I have a Panasonic DVDR DME-ES15. this is the second one that I bought. The first one worked great for a while then one day it stop reading any cd. when you turn on the machine it started doing like 3 or 4 wierd beeps and a message appeared that said that the cd could not be read. then I bought a second DVDR and after a while it started doing the same thing. I don't know if it is broken, and if it is, is it fixable. I love this machine, if you know whats ging on please let me know.

This is fixable. All you need to do is go to any store like wal mart, futureshop, best buy and find a CD cleaner. It is a CD with a little cloth fibers on one part. this will clean the laser of your DVD recorder and make it work again.

Sometimes dust gets on the laser and makes it not work.

Hello! I have a problem with a Panasonic DMR-ES15 DVD recorder. I have an error code E61. I tried all the solutions manual but did not work. I can not use it either as player or as a recorder. reset have a...

Hello.
I had a similar problem with my DMR-ES15 a little over 2 years ago, and, I too, could not find a solution. I resorted to sending it off to Panasonic for their 'out of warrantee' repair, for a hefty price. (I could have bought new, but really liked the features of the ES15.) Panasonic repaired it, and it worked well for another 2 years. Just recently, 3 weeks ago, it died it's second death, with the same issue. I wish I had a solution for both of us, but it seems it is a failure which cannot be repaired by the consumer. I had seen a previous post, which has a suggestion of looking for '2 failed capacitors', but no other information, not even where these capacitors are located in the machine. I enterd a post myself, but have received so solutions/suggestions, and I don't even see my post on this site anymore. I'm a little disappointed with 'Fixya'...
If I find any new information, I'll be sure to post it.

DVDrecorder dmres15. I can't play a dvd it keeps saying fault U61 and that it is carrying out its recovery process. I've bought a cleaning disc but it wont work.

Hello.
Since I haven't seen any other responses, I thought I'd share my experiences with you. I'm sorry, this is only a comment, and not a solution.
I had the same issue with my DMR-ES15 over 2 years ago, for which I was never able to find a solution. So, I sent it off to Panasonic for their 'out of warrantee' repair, for a hefty price. (Could have bought new, but really liked the features of the ES15.) So, got it back from Panasonic, and it worked well for another 2 years. (Their 'out of warrantee' repair warrantee was only 90 days. This always seems to be a gamble.) Unfortunately, it died it's second death a few weeks ago. Since '2 lives' are probably more than to be expected for this kind of disposable electronic device, I won't pursue another repair. (By the way, it is increasingly difficult to find a stand-alone DVD recorder (with no VCR) with a tuner in it.)
Sorry it's not better news, but I'll follow-up if I find any additional info.

Desktop Machine Stopped Recognizing CD/DVD drives

Hello. CD and DVD drivers pretty standard these days. Generic even. You can go buy CD and DVD drives all day long and install them and they will come right up in Windows.

My latest was a Blue Ray / DVD by Sony because I wanted to watch and copy Blu Ray content (which I own copies of for sure...)

Anyway I did a search on your issue and it seems to be pretty common one. It's never happened to me (knock on wood) but perhaps there some special bad thing you have to do - or virus that you have to get - that mangles the Windows Registry or such. The top article was on Windows XP I believe ... but there were more.

Just unplug it and let it sit for half an hour. Then try playing the lens cleaner disc, the problem would be fixed....
