When I shoot outdoors all I get is a white screen with very faded images. What's wrong?

  • Anonymous Dec 18, 2012

I am also having this problem with my Exilim EX-S200. I have checked all the white balance settings, and tried manually resetting the white balance, but it doesn't work. In the dark, when the flash is used, the pictures look fine, but in daylight or well-lit rooms, they're just white with faint outlines.

My pictures are coming out yellow, what am I doing wrong?

If you look at the white balance for your camera in the menu settings, you should find one for tungsten lighting, which will help. Don't forget to change it back when shooting outdoors. Alternatively, most photo editing software will enable you to remove the yellow cast before printing.

Outdoor pics completely washed out Cannon S5 IS Power shot

Try going into the review menu, choose setup and then choose 'reset all' This should re-set all shooting settings to automatic and solve the problem. If that doesn't do the trick, your sensor is probably damaged - not good news - sorry

Displays green color image/screen

When did you get this message? It seems like you have set the White Balance of the camera wrong. Set it to Auto White Balance to eliminate this problem. Use Daylight White Balance when shooting in bright daylight so as to eliminate any color cast in the image.

Casio Z600

The Casio Exilim EX-Z600 seems to have a high failure rate with the CCD (Charged Coupled Device). Symptoms include over-exposures (white outs) on outdoor shots and thin horizontal lines across the entire image. I have the same camera with the same problem. Given the age of the camera (2006), it is probably not worth fixing.

Pictures are too bright when shooting outdoors in sunlight

Have you tried changing your settings manually to outdoor? Or adjusted the aperture? You can usually find the aperture settings under the menu button. If not, try adjusting to outdoor conditions and disabling flash. And also, lower your white balance a good bit.
