The whirlpool free helpline is 1-800-253-1301
I don't think that there are any parts of the oven that you can service, however if you are feeling very brave then you could try removing the screws on the back

The bulb light inside the microwave went dead with the microwave working perfectly...how do I replace the bulb?

Replacing the cavity light requires taking off the outer wrapper to access the bulb. Nothing easy or magical just an exercise in patience.

Lightbulb on ceiling of oven went out. How do I

Hello :

1:Unplug the microwave oven from the outlet. Wait 20 minutes for the capacitor that is inside the microwave to discharge.

2:Unscrew all the screws around the casing by turning them counterclockwise.

3:Remove the cover by lifting off.

4:Locate the light bulb in the microwave. This will be located on either the right or left side.

5:Unscrew the light bulb by unscrewing counterclockwise. Some light bulbs are held into the socket by two notches; for these you will need to gently push on the bulb and turn counterclockwise to unsecure the bulb, then pull out of the socket.

6: Place your new bulb in the empty socket and secure by turning clockwise until tight, or if the bulb is one with notches on both sides, then guide the notches into the slot on the socket, push gently and turn clockwise until clicked into position.

7: Replace the cover and screw back on. You are now done and may plug back in the microwave.

Warning : Unplug the microwave before starting and wait 20 minutes for any residual electricity to be bled off from the capacitor.

Things you will need : Phillips screwdriver

good luck .

Hello i have a panasonic model nn-l5263a

If there's no obvious removable cover over the bulb (most often on the rear or side) and the owner's manual doesn't address it, then disassembly will be required.

The panel you describe - if inside the cavity - is not the light cover, but the waveguide cover.

You'll need to remove the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

If it's an over the range type, remove the vent grille across the top and see if bulbs can be accessed there. There may be a panel on the bottom covering the light(s), instead.

If not, chances are you'll have to remove it from the wall, then remove the outer cover. If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

Once it's out of the wall, the outer cover (wrapper) will need to be removed, just as you'll need to do on a counter top model.

On a counter top model, be sure it's unplugged, but otherwise ignore the instructions above this paragraph.

You'll need to remove the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb.

See these links before proceeding:
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/safety.txt
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/disassembly.txt

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

Bulbs can be had locally in most grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box or department stores.

Many models use halogen lamps. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

GE MIcrowave model JVM1631BJ01 hood lights won't work

The part that controls that is goes through your control panel on your microwave. For the lights to come on to start with the door being closed switches have to be working right and when you press start the lights come one. When the microwave is through cooking and you open then close the door then the lights should go out. The logic IC on the control panel board that detects all these events is not being reset correctly. Unless you get a microwave tech to track down the component on the control panel circuit board it is not something that you could do on your own since it takes voltage and signal checks with the proper equipment and then some soldering and desoldering of the defective component(s). Good luck and God bless.

Kenmore 62709 Microwave

The 5-digit number above is not a complete model number.

If you can post the full model number I can probably give you a link to the explode view, or you can find it here: http://www3.sears.com (the 3 is correct)

Manufacturers used to include access panels in the rear or side so you could easily change the bulb. That exposed the customer to 110V connectors, and that posed a real liability threat, so they stopped using them.

You now must generally remove the outer cover to replace the bulb.

In many over-the-range models, that can mean having to take the oven down from the wall! For safety's sake, that should be a two-person job and it's really helpful if you have your original installation instructions to do this.

Many models use one halogen lamp to illuminate the cooktop and another to illuminate the cavity. You must not touch them with your bare skin as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

GE Spacemaker Microwave

On these models, the oven must be pulled from the wall mount, then the outer cover must be removed. This is apparently to limit the manufacturer's liability. Removing the microwave from the wall is really a two-person job, since it is heavy and awkward. You don't want it to fall or slip, and the edges can be sharp. It helps a lot if you saved the original installation instructions. Once the oven is out of the wall, you can then access the lamp socket. These bulbs are special halogen types that must not be touched by bare hands, since skin oils will shorten their life. Interior light gone out

There is usually a little window inside that might remove with screws, or even snap in. That should allow access to the lamp. Check the manufactures website under product support for more info.

Where is the light bulb located?

Unscrew the vent at the top of the microwave(2 phillips head screws)
inside to the right you'll see another screw holding a metal panel. Unscrew this and take the panel off and you'll see the bulb, which will unscrew counter-clockwise
