Hello, first thing is check the condition of the filter on the front of the unit, if it is dirty wash it and let it dry then reinstall it. Also, it is a good idea to clean the evaporator coil with a can of coil cleaner that you can pick up at any heating and cooling store. Just spray cleaner on evaporator coil and let it dry. If this does not solve the problem tjen the unit might be undercharged and will need a hvac tech to recharge it

1999 buick freeze out plug

Sounds like you have a leaking freeze plug, you will need to replace it, hopefully it is rusted and leaking and did not pop out due to freezing temp, some of these plugs are in spots thatcan cost alot to replace, the plug itself is a few dollars and new coolant . the cooling system needs to be drained because when plug is removed all coolant will run out , the plugs are all over the block, this is designed to pop out plugs and not crack block if there is not enough coolant and to much water and it freeze in cold weather the water expanding pops plugs and not cracking block, some are behind ****** or bracket and so on, you will need to locate the leaking one and see if it is something you want to do. good day

2 problems one water escaping to the drain freeze cycle short

first, freeze cycle too short because you are loosing water. Water may be leaking thru the dump valve. Look at drain while machine is running and see of alot of water is draining. The dump valve spring may be week or there is trash in the dump valve preventing it from seating properly. drain water first before pulling dump valve apart.

The freezer isn't making alot of ice. Can the hose behind the ice maker freeze?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

When a refrigerator slows down ice production it is usually the result of poor air-flow through the evaporator coils. The poor air-flow is due to ice build up on the evaporator coils. The ice build up happens because the unit is not defrosting properly or the evaporator fan is not running at full speed.

To answer your question "Can an Ice-maker tube freeze?" Yes, they can and do freeze but when they do freeze that is caused by a defective inlet water valve that is leaking water by when it is supposed to be shut off. It can freeze if some one set the temp control to MAX cold. Additionally when they do freeze and the Ice-maker cycles the plastic hose on the back of the unit pops out of the ice maker tube and each cycle starts porting ice maker fill water on the floor.

This may sound odd.. but. Perform a manual defrost by removing the freezer contents and directing a fan into the freezer compartment for just over 2 hours. (Makes a water mess so do not leave it unattended) The return the unit to normal service and after 8 hours start watching the amount of ice produced. (Should be normal for 2 days!) If after 2 days the ice production slows again you have an automatic defrosting problem that is causing the ice build up on the evaporator coils.

If you need any more assistance please include your complete model number in any future responses.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

My car is leaking anti-freeze daily and there is a noise like maybe a barring sound. The anti-freeze leaks when I turn the car off and then runs hot until I put more in it? Could this be the water pump?

Yes, it is the water pump, the bearing to the water pump have gone bad, and that's where more then likely where the water is leaking out of, be careful, if engine gets to hot , the cylinder heads will get damage, then you be looking at alots of $$$ to repair.Hope this was very helpful, good luck.

Water leaks out front , is it freezing up?

The incoming air temperature has alot to do with how well a unit works. As the basement area warms up the dehu always works better. The water leak may be caused by a plugged drain line or a crack in the plastic drain pan in the 150 Max. Please call the Thermastor Tech Line at 800-533-7533 x 8459. Let's see if we can help determine what is going on.
