Question about Nokia 7230 Cell Phone

Hi, I have bought brand new nokia 7230. when ever i try to enter any sim it says sim card registration failed. Please tell what is exact reason and how to solve it and make my phone work.

If you are getting message sim card registration failed.,one possibility for that is sim card is not working anymore, an expired sim card or blocked sim card. To check wether sim card is working or not, try using it on other cell phone. If its the same problem , it has something to do with the phone it self.

Sir you might want to charge your phone and try to use other SIM Card if SIM card registration failed error still occur maybe its time to buy a new one

Hi,
There are several reasons that can cause this problem.
Sim card registration failed means it has been locked out by the service provider. Did you buy the phone NEW? If so take it back they will exchange it.If you bought it used, it has been reported lost or stolen before they sold it to you.
It is also possible that the "registration failed" message could be caused by a faulty SIM card not being correctly read by the phone.

Check if that SIM works in another phone (either an unlocked phone, or one that is on the same network), and also try another SIM in your phone - this would tell you whether the SIM or the phone is at fault in your case. A faulty SIM is an issue for your operator, a faulty phone would have to be repaired at a service point.

In countries like India, you need to register your SIM card. The cell phone company blocks the SIM if they don't receive the application within few weeks of activating the phone. Please check if this is case.
Take out the SIM and test it with a different phone, if the phone fails to read the SIM, get the SIM replaced. Few days ago this worked for a friend with a brand new Nokia handset here in Lagos, Nigeria.

Welcome to Fixya. This is not a problem with the phone. SIM Registration Failed means that the network is not accepting the SIM card for some reason. So you will not be able to place/receive calls at all. Call customer service of the sim card provider. and ensure the activation is ok. Once the activation is done correctly, the towers will accept the SIM card again. If that doesn't work, then you need to tell them to give you another SIM.

Hi by what you have said ,to me it sounds like the hand set is barred,if the phone was bought from new i would take it back if it is a second user phone they may have reported it has lost, but try another sim in the phone it may not like that sim.

My nokia 7230 shows a restricted code when m using any sim card .. how can i use my phone?

nokia 7230 it will say "sim card registration failed" no signal. cant make any calls. take the battery and sim card out and put it back in and the error message is GONE and works again. signal is back and can make calls. thought it might be something wrong with the sim card. did a sim swap. still does it. EVERYTIME i get that message and take the sim card and battery out and put it back in it works FINE. something wrong with the phone right? bought it in may this year.

I belive you got a new sim card.sim card registrations fails comes only when the delear from whom you purchased might havent gave your proff to the service providers. so please contact the delear from whom you got the sim card.

All sim cards are not alike. The card that is giving you the error is not compatible with your phone. Get a new sim card from your cell service provider.
