Some how a bread twist tie got dropped in side the toaster and shorted out the center wires for both slices, the outboard wires still get red and toast the bread on one side. I'm very handy and was looking for a overhaul manual to disassemble the toaster. This is a Waring WCT702 2 slice

Inside your toaster there are six heating element plates four in the center and one in left end and one in right end. Just switch on the toaster without any bread at maximum time and visualy inspect to see which side is becoming red and which not. Then you need to replace the element plates you see that they don't become red. Remember that the four in center are the same called "CENTER" and the other two on ends are the same called "END" They can easily be removed if you remove the bottom panel. Good Luck

The solution I got from the FixYa team was: "Get a new toaster." Which is how I ended up with 4 new toasters that don't work. I'm glad I didn't PAY for THAT answer.
