SOURCE: Error Message - Optical Backslide Error

Hi,

The back side means it will be E3 error, then you have to clean the back side optical unit like Glass part, lamp part, ccd unt. dont use Alcohol (IP) for cleaning CCD unit. It will be a risky one.

Another one since it is giving the back side error you can scan by scanning only the front side. i think you may be aware of the front side scanning .

How do I clear an Error ! message on a HT630 scanner? Thank you.

The HT630 scanner is a handheld barcode scanner, and an error message can occur for a number of reasons. Here are a few steps you can try to clear the error message on your scanner:
  1. Check the user manual: The user manual for the scanner should have a list of error messages and the corresponding solutions. Look for the error message that you are seeing and follow the instructions provided to clear it.
  2. Restart the scanner: Sometimes, simply restarting the scanner can clear an error message. To do this, turn off the scanner and then turn it back on again.
  3. Check the connections: Make sure that the scanner is properly connected to the host device, such as a computer or a mobile device. Check the cable connections and ensure that they are securely connected.
  4. Check the battery: Make sure that the scanner has enough battery power. If the battery is low, the scanner may display an error message. Charge the scanner or replace the battery if necessary.
  5. Update the scanner firmware: Make sure that the scanner's firmware is up to date. Outdated firmware can cause errors and malfunctions. Contact the manufacturer for instructions on how to update the firmware.
  6. Factory reset: If none of the above steps work, you can try performing a factory reset on the scanner. This will erase all the configurations and settings and will set the device to its original state. Check the user manual or contact the manufacturer for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
If the error message persists after trying these steps, it's recommended to contact the manufacturer or a professional technician for further assistance.
It's worth to mention that, Each scanner has a specific error code, some error codes can only be cleared by the manufacturer, by sending the scanner to repair or by a firmware update.

I receive an error F4 on my scanner when I turn it on. Will not scan. Any suggestions?

Hello Larry,

The F-4 error in Fujitsu fi-6240 scanner indicates Background change over unit malfunction alarm. It may be caused by the malfunction of background motor or optical unit or damaged optical cable.

You are recommended to contact the nearest Fujitsu scanner service center for rectification.

Thanks & regards,

My scanner won't scan. I get the message " Scanner is busy, operation can not be completed. Canon DR-2010C Driver Version 1.1.10805.18001 (-4437).

This may mean that something is using it or that something is interfering with it. Try turning everything off, your computer AND your scanner. Wait a minute or two and then turn your scanner on first and the turn your computer back on. When your computer boots back up don't open anything except the scanner. If your still getting the message then there is something else (another attached peripheral) that may be interfering with the scanner.

The scanner is reporting an E2 error code when it draws a document in. Any ideas? Re-cycling the power clears error but comes back when I scan. thankyou in advance

Hi,

This error message means ADF front side scanning optical alarm (lower optical unit ADF) which indicates ADF (front) lamp intensity check. Please follow the steps provided below:

1. Is the upper glass (white sheet guide)of the reading section dirty?

Open the ADF, and clean the sheet guide (white part) and the glass.
# When operating the scanner, the ADF’s inside glass becomes very hot. Take serious caution as the heat can cause burns. Before you clean the inside of the scanner, turn off its power and unplug the AC adapter from the outlet and wait (at least three minutes) until it gets cold.Be careful not to pinch your fingers when the ADF cover is being closed.
Note: Cleaning should be done approximately every 10,000 sheets scanned, though it may vary depending on types of
documents scanned. More frequent cleaning is necessary when the following types of documents are scanned:
- Smooth surface document such as coated paper
- Documents printed on almost entire surface
- Documents processed with chemical materials such as carbonless paper
- Paper with a high calcium content
- Pages with pencil lead
- Document where toner is not fused sufficiently.

If the above does not help, then the issue is caused by any of the followings for which you may have to contact the Fujitsu Expert/Engineer.

1. Lower Optical unit ADF may be dirty.
2. Lower lamp may not be functioning properly.
3. The connecting cables might be damaged.
4. The connectors are not connected properly.

Hope the above information is helpful.

I have a fujitsu 4120 scanner that will not pull the paper even after i changed the roller and pad.

Hello,

Does the scanner displays any error message on the scanner panel? Is there any TWAIN error message?

If paper jam occurs, U1 error will be displayed on the scanner panel and TWAIN driver will display " Paper jam the ADF (Code DS32002)" error message.

This error is detected when one of the followings occurs:

1) A document does not reach the TOP sensor while the scanner has transported the document about 250 mm to pick. (The scanner
performs retry operation.)

2) The trailing edge of a document does not reach the TOP sensor after the scanner transports the document by the length (L) below. (The document may have slipped on the rollers) Scan condition Transported length.

In order to assist you with your scanner issue, Please provide the issue details with error message.

If nothing is being displayed, then the issue could be due to failure in Pick Motor function or Pick Sensor malfunction.

Hope the above information is helpful.

Thank you for contacting FixYa.
