I had the same problem. I had the unit repaired for about $600. It seems that the air flow volocity is not strong enough to keep the dust from collecting on the circuit boards creating hot spots. The technician cleaned and checked all of the components as well as increased the fan speed. One of the modules (boards) had failed (T-75003031). So far it is functioning as normal, but I've only had it a week. The parts were purchased through PacParts, Inc (www.pacparts.com)

No picture on my Toshiba 42HP66 plasma tv.

I too have this problem with no help from hh Gregg, where I bought the tv, and no help from Toshiba. I resorted to calling the BBB and complaining about the defective workmanship. I took the tv, which is less than 2 years old, apart and found the y-sus board, behind the y-sus board is a foam rubber spacer to seperate the circut board from the backside of the screen. I think this pad is designed to prevent heat buildup in the y-sus board. The pad itself is held on by glue and that glue melted causing the y-sus board to short out. I noticed this after finding a tacky substance behind the board. The heat from the plasma screen melted this and also the pad itself. Toshiba claims no resposibility because the tv was out of warranty. Thanks Toshiba.

Toshiba 42HP66, HDMI problems

Your Cable box might need to be reprogrammed. Call the cable company and they will drive you thru the steps to program it, this way you will get the channels. This process might take you 30-45 minutes.
