Question about HP LaserJet 8000n Printer
Hi . on every paper printed there is a black line on top of the paper like about 1 inch wide its not very dark i can see it thru but for example when ill fax it they wont be able to read it, the line is going in the direction the paper is moving in the printer. how do i know if the problem is the fuser/drum or what else can it be?
The 8000n is not a color printer, not an ink jet machine. YOur problem can be only one of two things: bad toner cartridge or bad fuser.
Start by removing the cartridge from the printer. Pull back the drum door on the cartridge. Do you see dirt on that glass drum which corresponds with your print defect? If so it IS the cartridge.
If NOT, then it IS the fusing assembly, easily replaceable, no tools necessary. HP printers our only business.

There could be a problem in one of your drum, (4 pCS) to isolate w/c is w/c pls do this:
-print one of each color, M,C,Y,K(black)
- once you have identified that one of each is giving you problem pls replace the affected drum
- IF you printed all colors and still having the same line the problem is in the fuser section most likely the fuser roller or the pressure roller is either dirty or damaged.
-if it is dirty clean with alcohol while it is hot, gently rub (be careful it is hot) or cloth damped with oil will removed sticky toner adhered on its surface
cheers, dont forget to mark this pls
