Hi, if you are using the KLIC-5000 battery try to clean the metal contacts on the battery. Try also to remove the battery of your camera dock your camera on the docking station then turn on the camera, if the camera will not turn on it means the charging mechanism of the dock is defective. Now if the camera turns on it means the battery is defective that is why you can charged it.

The dock will only function with the KODAK batteries

Kodak sells three different package versions of their cameras. You can purchase one of their cameras with an adapter but no dock, with adapter and dock, or with adapter and printer dock. The dock and printer dock are also available on line (try eBay) as accessories. The dock is an extremely handy accessory, allowing automatic charging and computer connection. The printer dock though, at least in my experience, is a cumbersome and unreliable method of obtaining low-quality photos.

This happened to me. The cause was the battery did not fit into the case, This led to poor connection of the battery. After I fixed the loose battery , it worked perfectly till today.

First, the dock will charge only the batteries that came with the device; not other rechargeable batteries.
Be sure that the Kodak battery is inserted correctly, the door is closed securely, and that the camera is securely seated in the dock with the power cord secure to both the dock and the AC outlet. The USB cord does not supply power to the dock.

Not sure if this will help, but you might try removing the batteries from camera, then see if it responds on the dock, if so it is most likely bad battery. That battery should be easy enough to find at locally. The only type of batteries that will recharge on the printer dock are kodak rechargables. Just place the camera on the dock and leave it. It should begin charging on its own.
