I have a Proscan 40 inch 1080P LCDTV (40LD45Q), but when I connect my computer to it, (GTX 260) with DVI-HDMI cable, it says the native resolution is 1366x768. Is Proscan lying that this TV is 1080P?

45LD45Q is *definitely* 1080p.

Whether its HDMI can cooperate with your computer's HDMI output is another story altogether.

You can attempt to force 1080p to the TV by unchecking the box "hide modes this monitor cannot display" in the display adapter propteries, then try to select 1920 by 1080p, 60hz, 32 bit color, and see what happens. Post back what your findings are.

Acer display drivers for mac-mini ?

hi, may I know how are you connecting the mac-mini to the display? if it is VGA, that is the highest resolution it can go. But if you're connecting it via HDMI or DVI-D, it can reach its highest resolution for the monitor. did have similar problem last time, but solved by using HDMI-DVI cable.

Hello

Researching your monitor specifications, it has a native resolution of 1920x1080 so the setting you are running should work.

Have you tried the other HDMI port on the monitor? It has to inputs and it is possible that the current port is causing the reported issue.

Another option is to get a DVI to HDMI adapter OR use a DVI cable with your graphics card to see if that corrects the issue. It is possible that the HDMI inputs are going bad and using a different input could resolve the issue. Both DVI and HDMI are digital inputs so you should not see any quality differences between the two connections.

The final check would be to connect your PC to another HDMI enabled screen (another monitor or TV) and see if the resetting continues on a different screen. If the problem occurs on a different display, you will likely have to download and install the latest video drivers for your card.

Hope this helps.

Sound output through hdmi

DVI is "Digital Video Interface". No Audio is transferred through this type of connection - even if one end of the cable is HDMI.

BEST solution would be to purchase a video card with HDMI output.

Alternate solution would be to run audio from rear audio jack to TV (assuming you have an input on the TV that will accept it)

I want ot change my LG television Model 47LH40 to 1080p using my LG remote

1080p video resolution can only be achieved by a Blu-ray Disc. Satellite TV, broadcast TV, cable TV do not actually send out 1080p resolution. So unless you are using a Blu-ray movie, you will not be viewing 1080p. Your HDTV has a NATIVE screen resolution and the TV will SCALE all incoming video to its native resolution. Most people cannot tell the difference between 720p and 1080i. 1080p signal sources are slightly sharper. But if you have a HDTV that is 1080p capable and you give it a 1080p source (Blu-ray Disc) and use a HDMI cable to connect, you will get 1080p, you do not have to change the HDTV as it will automatically display 1080p.

Time lag between Playstation 3 and LCD TV.

SOURCE: http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=confrontation&thread.id=735278&view=by_date_ascending&page=2

If your playing with lag on your new HD LCD your at a competitive disadvantage! Everything you see happens seconds later than your opponent who has his/her settings right.
The fix:
1. Connect your PS3 using HDMI Input 2.
2. SELECT or RENAME the HDMI Input to PC. Already pointed out, but this does not make the majority of tv's run in PC mode.
3. On the PS3 start-up menu go to Settings---> Display ---->
Choose HDMI ----> DO NOT choose AUTOMATIC ----> SELECT CUSTOM ----->
4. Now, Select all the Resolution options EXCEPT 720p. This will force your games into 1080p mode. What it will also do is drop any game that doesn't have 1080i/p support into 480. Games like Burnout Paradise, Vegas 2, Heavenly Sword, NHL 08 and more will be dropped into SD (480) rather than HD. Your picture will be terrible. 720p is standard gaming resolution currently, 1080i/p is not.
5. Save and complete the display setup.
6. Turn off the PS3. Turn off the TV.
7. Turn on the TV. Turn on the PS3.
8. Complete! (Lag eliminated). Please spread this around!

*The key to eliminating ALL LAG is modern LCD's need to be in PC MODE (NOT GAME MODE) On many tv's, PC mode requires you to use a VGA or DVI connector. You'll either need to buy an HDMI adapter or an HDMI to VGA / DVI cable if that's the case.
and the Source MUST BE IN 1080p so that the TV can use it's NATIVE RESOLUTION.* Please, check your tv's native resolution. If you have a plasma that only does 720p, your native resolution is probably 720p. You do not need to follow these steps, it will only make things worse. If your tv's native resolution is 720p, obviously you want to keep your display settings at 720p on your PS3. If your native resolution is 1080i, you shouldn't go selecting 1080p. If your native resolution is 1080p on your TV, you need to be aware that removing 720p as an option will force many games into 480.

Keep these things in mind and remember that the steps above are far from a cure all solution. .

Component video has a max resolution of 720p. in order to use 1080i or p you have to use hdmi or dvi connections. That is why you get the flicker.
