Listen if you hear the compressor running. Most likly a failed unit but depends on how hany you are. After disconnecting the power remove the cover of the unit. Closely look at the wiring and look for any signes of burnt wiring or other damage. My guess is that a controll has opend preventing the compressor from operating. It might be easer to look for a new unit.

My dehumidifier sh3030 is not collecting water but is running fine

You say it's running "ok", but there is no water discharge. If that is true then you have absolutely no moisture in your air and that is practically impossible. So we can say effectively that it is NOT running "ok". Fell the discharge air from the unit. If it is roughly room temperature rather than substantially warmer that than the air in the room, then you have found a problem. That problem would be that while the fan may be running, the compressor that heats that air and gets the condensation going is not. If you feel little or no air from the discharge, then you could have a clogged coil or filter (you checked that), or a bad fan.

I have a Danby DDR5009REE Dehumidifier-is there any way to put a timer on it? I feel like it can't be good for it to run all the time and it is hard for me to get to the basement. I am not sure if I...

Actually, you don't need to add a timer. The model you have already has a timer built in. On the unit itself, as well as the hand held remote. So you can set it either way. Set the amount of time you want it to run, when it reaches that time, it will shut Off automatically. One of the most important things to remember is to clean the air intake regularly. At least once every two weeks.

In cae you have misplaced the Owner's Manual, I ave included a link to it that you can download and print for future reference.

The dehumidifier will run, but will not collect any moisture from the air. The screen has been cleaned, the tub is cleaned, but no water will collect.

Our humidifer runs but does not collect water.

Againg, if theres no moister in the air it wont remove water. if you feel the location for exmaple a basment feels cool when entering , then mosuet exist. dehumidifer will make any location warm when removing the coolnest in the air. within summer hot months it will collect more water than in the winter months. if it does feel cool and machine dont remove the water. call a repair person.
