Try to re start the power first to reset the supply in which the door unable to open and then push the open/close button to open the door. if still won't open maybe their is an stuck up at mechanical part, so turn off the player then use a Phillip screw driver to loosen the screws and to remove the cover of the DVD player .you can now access the disc mechanical assembly of your DVD player, remove the CD first and then check if the plastic gear is mis aligned or the the drive belt is broken.much better if you can apply silicon grease in plastic gear for smooth operation.then make sure the open/close button is ok, good luck and good day.

SOURCE: DVD eating discs

It's obvious that the DVD is stuck in the player. There's only one way to get it out! You have to open the DVD player. If you have never done this before, I don't recommend that you do it.

Memorex MVD2016BLK Progressive Scan DVD Player, Black (Electronics)
suddenly began having problems - stuttering, claiming 'wrong disc', stuck in standby and unable to get it unstuck....was torn between throwing it out the window and buying a special cleaning disc. Instead went to the Memorex site and found the reset procedure, which WORKED! Try this for your frozen MVD2016. Reset procedure:
1 Press and hold power button
2 Unplug unit from electrical source without releasing the button
3 Keep holding button for 60 seconds
4 release and reconnect.
5.watch your DVD.

Magnavox ZC320MW8 door stays open

f the tray won't open or close properly, check the belt for dirt or wear. Then check the tray for misalignment. If needed, remove, clean, lubricate, and reinstall the tray following the instructions in the owner's manual.

WHY MY PORTABLE DVD WON'T PLAY

It won't play for one of two reasons:
1. There is something inside the DVD player, which keeps it from playing.
2. The DVD player's battery has run out of juice and can no longer play, meaning the player needs to be replaced.

Zenith dvd/vcr model ABV341 DVD WON'T STAY IN TO PLAY...VCR WORKD FINE

If the door does not close either something ( a coin or anything) got inside or there is a issue with the mechanism= alignment or possible bad part in that mechanism that loads and positions the disc.

A suggestion when door opens try to take a quick look inside with a flashlight to see what you can.

The dvd player will not read the disc

If it won't read any disc you put in, consider getting a new DVD player, the eye is most likely gone bad. If it is only one disc that you can't read i would suggest a Scotch DVD Cleaner kit. Cleans and Repairs discs, helps prevent skipping and mistracking, and repairs minor surface scratches improving disc audio and image quality.

The disc door frequently will not open and now it

One of the things you try for this , is to remove moisture that has collected in the machine, this could be due to it being in a cold room,or not used for sometime.

bring it into a warmer environment switch it on and leave for 2 hrs then retry your discs.

Also check the region on the dvd matches that on the discs.
Please see your manual for discs your dvd won`t play, also about finalising.

DVD door won't open

It's likely the drive belt that controls the sledge the disc goes on has perished or fallen off. It should just need replacing.

No disc kicks disc out

I have the problem of it refusing the disc if the door opens before I have filled the whole disc and finalized it. As long as I don't open the door till the disc is full and finalized, it works.
