Hit and hold the number 1. This should bring you to your voice mailbox set-up. Follow prompts from there. If that doesn't work call your cell phone number from your cell phone.

Comdial edge 120 incoming call handling help

It seems like you're trying to configure a phone system or a specific phone to have incoming calls ring on multiple extensions simultaneously or forward to another extension if not answered. The exact steps can vary depending on the phone system or model you're using. If you provide more details about the phone system or model, I can offer more accurate instructions. In the absence of specific information, here's a general guide on how you might achieve this:
**For Most Phone Systems:**
1. **Ring All Extensions:**
- Log in to the phone system's administration interface.
- Locate the call forwarding or call distribution settings.
- Look for options related to "Hunt Group," "Ring Group," "Call Distribution," or similar terms.
- Create a group that includes the extensions you want the incoming calls to ring on.
- Assign the group a number or label.
- Configure incoming calls to be forwarded to the assigned group number or label.
2. **Forward After Rings/No Answer:**
- Within the same settings area, look for options related to "Call Forwarding" or "Follow Me."
- Configure the settings to forward calls to another extension or voicemail after a certain number of rings or if there's no answer.
**Example for Asterisk-based Systems (such as FreePBX):**
1. **Ring All Extensions:**
- Log in to the FreePBX administration interface.
- Create a Ring Group.
- Add the extensions you want to include in the group.
- Set the Ring Strategy to "Ringall" or "Ring All Available."
- Specify the Ring Time (how long it should ring on each extension).
- Save the settings.
2. **Forward After Rings/No Answer:**
- Create a Follow Me setting.
- Add the destination extension(s).
- Set the Ring Time (how many seconds it should ring).
- Configure the Follow Me List to go to the next destination if there's no answer.
- Save the settings.
Please note that terminology and options might differ based on your phone system's manufacturer and model. It's important to consult your phone system's documentation or seek help from your IT department or phone system administrator if you're not familiar with the settings or if you're dealing with a complex setup.
Keep in mind that making changes to a phone system's configuration can impact its functionality, so it's a good practice to do so during non-peak hours or with proper testing to ensure everything works as expected.

What is answer mode?

The answer mode determines whether the HP Fax answers incoming calls or not.

Different answer modes are :

* Fax

The HP Fax will automatically answer all incoming calls using the Rings to Answer setting. This is the default setting.

* FaxTel (unit with handset model only)

The HP Fax automatically answers all incoming calls using the Rings to Answer setting. If the call is a fax call, the HP Fax will receive the fax. If the call is a voice call, the HP Fax will create a special ring to indicate it is a voice call. The incoming voice call will need to be answered using the attached handset.

NOTE: If the HP Fax determines the call is a voice call, only the HP Fax will ring with the special ring tone. The other phones on the same phone line will not ring at all. You will not be able to pick up the voice call using the other phones.

* Tel

The HP Fax will not automatically answer calls. Faxes will need to be received manually.

* AnswerMachine

The HP Fax will monitor the line when an incoming call is answered by a person or by the answering machine. If the HP Fax detects fax tones on the line, it will receive the fax.

I have a sony k800i phone can you block certain people from phoning you. I know some phones do this

Yes Sony Ericsson phones do allow this, but the problem is (If I'm not wrong i got a SE phone while back) you can't set to block certain numbers, but you can set that These 10 people can only call me Else send busy tone.
You can do this by Selecting Settings / Calls / Manage Calls / Accept Calls / Only from list.

What it will do is if the person from the list calls you your phone will ring, but if some other person calls you, he/she will be sent the busy tone, But the Good thing is your phone not even vibrate, but will Monitor that this certain number tried to call you this much times. And his/her call was missed.

I Hope you have a clear picture now, what to do.
And yes, let me also tell you that some service providers, NOT ALL provide their users the utility of Blocking Certain Numbers, you can also confirm it by calling your Service Provider.

Answermachine not picking up

I emailed Motorola support. Email bounced back and was redirected to their broadband support. Not what i needed at all. Tried again, same result. Gave up in the end and contacted BT who round a fault at the exchange which was blocking my Caller Id. Once they fixed this, the answer machine worked too. Weird. Especially as I plugged in an older phone earlier to test it and the answer machine on that one worked. Nil points to Motorola for support I have to say....

Fax machine will not reset to be able to answer the phone

When you set your fax machine to answer on a certain number of rings it will answer it on that number of rings expecting it to be another fax machine. If you do not answer it before the aloted number of rings you will not be able to talk since the fax machine will be trying to talk in computer speak. To help you may want to set it to answer after more rings.
