Question about HP Photosmart 325 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Image is partially cut off when printed

I'm trying to print a photo from the computer to my hp 325. When it prints, there is a white border only on one side and on the bottom that means the image I want is chopped off. I don't want a border at all. But, setting up for a borderless 4x6 print still resulted in the same outcome. Please help! I'm trying to print a photo to give as a birthday present tomorrow.

Your expert patiently talked me through several possibilities. Finally, in the print set-up window, I clicked on Properties in the upper right and made all my printing choices there. I still got a border, even though I didn't want one, but it was all the way around the photo...not on two sides, and the photo was not chopped off.

First use a photo processing programme (like say Photoshop or PS Elements - or if you have not got that (can be expensive) get the free Faststone Image Viewer and size the image to twice the paper size you want, then use the crop tool to select half the image and save that as a file with a name where you can find it again. Do the same with the other half. You will now have two files, each half of the paper size. As they will have small borders, print and trim the borders, so you can then mount side by side to achieve what you want. I would advise to NOT try and print without borders - that can introduce other problems - just accept having to trim the small borders from normal printing.

I am trying to print my holiday photos. But my photosmart C5180 printer will not print borderless. There is a white border on the right side on app. 5 mm and 5 mm on the top.

Go to HP Solution Center
Go to printer settings
go to Printer preferrences
go to features tab
choose or check on borderless

There is probably a "gutter" setting that is trying to give you a border of sorts. Check the advanced print settings and look for something like gutter and turn it off.

I print borderless several times & found white border both side

This is because the image is of a different aspect ratio than the paper. That is, if your image's dimension is 8x12 inch and you are trying to print it on an 8x10-inch paper, the printer will adjust the longer side to 10 inches. Hence the shorter side will become less than 8 inches. This will lead to white border on the shorter side. If you try to adjust this, the longer side will fall out of the paper and hence in the print, this portion will be cut.

So please understand that this is normal. One option to prevent this is to crop the image to fit the paper size.

I can't seem to print borderless photo prints

Ok,
After going back and forth with Hp which by the way were very helpful I still did not get a fix. I decided to go to "Control Panel" Clicked on "Printers and Faxes". Right clicked on my printer icon and deleted it. Then I clicked on "Add a printer" I added the C5180 again and now it works great. Don't know why and I don't care. Just so it works again. That's the nature of computers sometimes. Thanks

Printer lines in photo's

Click Start - All programs - HP - HP Solution center.

In HP solution center Click on the Printing Shortcuts tab. Select Photoprinting with borders or borderless. Click OK.
Then close the HP solution center. Try printing. Print photos always with Best quality.

If the issue persists check the ink level of both cartridges and use Photos Cartridge HP 58 to print photos. We insert the Photo cartridge in place of black cartridge.

Thanks
