is the dvd player a home theatre system?if yes, does the tv play sound via the dvd home theatre speakers when it is on?if yes then maybe you should double-check your audio port connections between the two for correct configurations
Take it back where u buy it,talk to the store for a replacement,if possible.Or call Toshiba, talk to customer service, describe the problems, ask for a warranty repair. The Tuner board is is the board where the coalax broscast tv signal comming in to this board. It have faulty componnents on it.The board should be replaced. So get the tv replaced buy the store or waranty repair by Toshiba.
First: be sure the TV sound is ok.
then, try the DVD sound by using headphones. If it sounds, then try moving by do a little pressure aside the audio connector from DVD to TV while it is connected
1. This is due to a failing sound module 2. Your flat panel tv needs service to the board level to check voltages and components surrounding the sound chip in your tv.
HDMI may not output sound. Go into the setup screen of the DVD player and go into audio setup. Make sure you have it set for PCM or equivalent DIGITAL setting. If you set that and you still get no surround sound, you will have to use and optical cable between the receiver and the DVD.
The proper hookup is antenna or cable into the VCR RF/antenna input, then VCR RF/antenna output to the TV RF input. The hookup you describe means no signal is getting to the VCR.
With some TVs, there can be Video and audio output jacks which can be hooked to the video and audio jacks of the VCR. However this would likely mean you could only record the channel being watched, and, the TV would have to be on.
