- resetting the timing

Hello, I have a Pfaff 545 sewing machine, and I would like to learn how to reset the timing. Can someone give me some instructions or is there a manual that I can purchase or get that will have these instructions? My machine will not rethread itself and therefore will not sew anymore.
thank you for your help. Angele

broke needle, changed and all well, then it started to skip stiching ie does about 4or 5 and then skip about 5or 6 does about 2or 3 and then nothing, after stopping it starts all over again, check needle and pickup, it makes a proper hook and the bottom the won't pick up the loop.

I have been an upholsterer for over 30 years, I own a Pfaff 145 and Pfaff 545. Both are basically the same. Whenever my timing is off, where the threaded needle won't connect with the bobbin thread, I have always had success in re-setting the timing by taking apart the entire bobbin case. Remove the walking foot and the plate it walks on. Remove the bobbin and dismantle everything underneath it. Keep each piece and its screws together, and remember the order in which you removed it (last goes in first, etc.)Remove any obstructions, thread, fluff, etc. Surprisingly, when you put it all back together, your timing will be back to normal. This has always worked for me, and I hope it'll work fo you.

Guide to threading a pfaff 1229

Hello, Sandie -

You will find several images of how to thread your Pfaff Synchrotronic 1229 sewing machine in the instruction book for the machine, starting on Pages 6 - 9 (PDF images #10 - 13) of the manual (PDF format) here:
http://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/Support-manuals/Synchrotronic_1229-manual-EN.PDF
Since it is a PDF document, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader software (free), to download and save the document on your computer, and open and refer to it later.

Note: When you save the PDF document to your computer, be sure to give the file a name you can find again easily . . . something like: Pfaff Synchrotronic 1229 Manual.

Best wishes.

I just bought a Pfaff 434-0-6/1B And know nothing about it, I'm struggling to find anything on the Internet Can someone please help steer me in the right direction Annie

Hello, Annie -

I have not yet found much on the Pfaff 434-0-6/1B sewing machine. Based on snippets of information I have found it MAY be an industrial sewing machine.

You may learn more by asking your question on an online sewing discussion forum. One I have found is PatternReview.com. This is the link to the home page:

There is a Pfaff Pfans forum on PatternReview.com:

You will need to be registered (free) and logged in on PatternReview.com to ask any questions.

Best wishes.

How do you reset timing on Pfaff Creative 7570 Machine? Was sewing and heard loud pop, now will not work. Any ideas?

Hi Lisa,
"A loud pop" whilst sewing sounds as though a capacitor has blown probably in the power supply unit. I'd recommend that you take your machine to a Pfaff service shop to have it serviced.
To reset the timing on a sewing machine is a specialist job. To give you an idea of what it entails on a mechanical machine (your machine is electromechanical) have a look at this video
Good luck :)

How do I adjust the timing on a pfaff industrial 545?it will not pick up the bobbin thread at all.

This happened to me. Shucks, I had the wrong needle in; it was too short to reach the bobbin thread and pick it up. Installed correct needle (repair man did) and viola. . .
