Re: Want to buy bad light engine Toshiba 62HM95/62HMX95

I'm looking for someone who had to replace the light engine in either a Toshiba 62HM95 or 62HMX95 DLP HDTV due to excessive noise or flashing colors on screen (bad color wheel). The Toshiba part number for this light engine is 23405476. I do not need a bulb with this unit. If anyone's got one laying around that they'd like to unload, please send me an email.

Thanks,
Greg

I am having the same problem what do we do.

I have a 62hmx95 that has a light engine problem. I contacted Toshiba and the repair that was offered was to send my engine in for repair. Apparently there are no available parts to exchange. The engine will have to be repaired and we be sent back in 6 to 8 weeks. This is my second 62hmx95.The first set had similar problems within 6 months. Toshiba's response was to have a service provider exchange parts until they could find a solution. I will never recomend a Toshiba product for their lack of customer support.

I have already replaced the lamp twice in our 62 inch toshiba and now the wheel needs replaced but i haven't located one anywhere.I don't feel that you should have to try to locate a replacement part .

having the light engine replaced on my 62" after 8000 hours .. still on warranty .. the price was $70.00. labour cost..200.00. all coverde by future shop warranty.. now since they done the work. ther is a audio popping/cracking sound a bit annoying.. cant say it the tv , for sure, as i have several other tv's to compare to, all seemed to make same crackle .. suspect cable company...dam..could of got new 62 as this would be the 4th time in for repairs..in general the tv has excellant hd quailty picture, certainly not worth the 3800.00$ .. will never do that agin..

Greg,
I had the light engine on my Toshiba 52HM95 fail. Sent it to a company Tri State Modules for repair. Got it back as good as new for $249.00. Goto tristatemodule.com. I hope this helps.

I'm looking for a replacement screen for a Regza 42C3000A please

Only Toshiba service centre can help you. The cost of replacing the screen so high, it is better to buy a new one. I think someone has broken the scree. If you want to buy a new TV, look for a TV which has a glass front before the screen. These TVs are high end.

Toshiba TDP-T45 projector, groups of vertical lines across entire screen. Someone said try setup frequency to someone else with same problem but that person said it didn't work, then someone said replace...

the tube referred to is the light tunnel. which in your case is not the problem. unfortunately the only thing you can do is give it a good slap on the top 3 inches behind the lens for an unlikely long term fix, or try reseating the main board to the light engine. if neither work then the main board or the light engine is bad.

Bad color wheel...

You won't be able to replace just the motor. And, its true that Toshiba has not seen fit to offer this part independently from the light engine assy. Try checking with PTS in Indiana. They may be able to fix your old wheel or sell you a rebuilt one.

Toshiba 52hmx95 dlp

Take off the back, and take out screws holding in the light engine. Look at new light engine, and the old one you will have to take off a couple of things that your new engine wont come with. It is very easy to change. Any questions please ask.

Toshiba 62HM195 needs a new light engine

This is a DLP type TV and if you mean the lamp, that is not a bad price however:
Projection TV makers charge an arm and a leg for their replacement lamps. They make it easy to do but as a result the custom lamp assy is expensive. The trick is to just buy the bulb for your model TV from any number of us aftermarket sources at a fraction of the lamp price and install it in the old lamp yourself. really easy. Some models are real bulb hogs though. Look them up on the net (include the word complaint or repair) before you buy, or you might be sorry. Many class action lawsuits out there - even against some of the name brand makers.
Hope ya fix it!
