How do i find the exponential root using the TI-30Xa calculator?

Put in the number and press the square-root key (two keys up from the 9 key). For example, to calculate the square root of 4, press 4 square-root.

I assume you refer to the caret ^ symbol, sometimes used as an operator for exponentiation.

• for x^2 use the key [x²].
• for x^3 use [2nd] [x³] (alternate function of the [1] key).
• for all other exponents, use the key:

You can just use the exponentiation and raise the argument to the power of 1/5 = 0.2 and get the 5th root.

Use the x-root function, which is the 2nd function of the y^x key located just above the divide key. For example, to find the cube root of 8, press 8 2nd x-root 3 =

If you're asking about entering powers of ten, use the EE (enter exponent) key just above the 7. If you're asking about exponentiation, use the y^x key just above the divide.

You can calculate cube roots by using the cube root function (the 2nd-shift of the 0 key). You can calculate arbitrary roots by using the x-root function (the 2nd-shift of the y^x key, just above the divide key).

You can calculate =4^1.2 in Excel and get 5.278031643
And also in Excel you can determine what the square root of 2 is (2.506628274631) and then in Excel = 5 ^ 2.506628274631 = 56.5012395907155.

Come on now....there are dedicated "square" and "square root" keys on the TI-30XA....

Enter your number e.g. 4, then press the "root x" key to get 2...

Press "x squared" key to get the square of 2 = 4

There's the even more useful "y to the power x" key and it's inverse "xth root of y" key.

E.g. Enter 2, then press the "y to the power x" key, then 5, then =, answer is 32 (2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2). Starting with 32, pres 2nd then the "y to the power x" key, then 5, then =, answer is 2, the 5th root of 32....
