Question about Sony XPlod CD Player w/MP3 Playback CDX-GT40W

1 Answer

I have a sony explode cd player. It is an older one and has been sitting in a garage for about 3 years. We hooked it up today and my subs will not play when a cd is playing but the subs will play in tuner mode. Any suggestions.

It sounds like you are using the blue wire (power antenna remote turn on) instead of the blue/white wire ( amplifier remote turn on) to turn your amp on. The power antenna remote turns off when leaving tuner mode.

Sub cutting out

Check the 12v wire running from the battery to the amplifier. Also the sony explode is a garbage subwoofer compared to the Alpine.. sony (they say 1200w max but its more like 100w to power the thing) Amp could be going. Is the amplifier hot when running. If there is a burnt smell comming from the amp, its the amplifier

Sony xplode cd player sub problems

Switch your blue wires around.

You have put the remote antenna wire to the remote turn on of the amplifier. The radio cuts off the power to the "power antenna" when you switch to a different mode... so your amplifier is now losing the turn on signal it requires to stay on.

Simple 2 minute fix.

I need help with a system that I just bought.

Well it should be like this...Your amp is prologic which means that it has 5+1 outputs (sub out may be for active sub).Connect your speakers on specific output for each one (center, front left, front right, rear left, rear right and sub).Other devices,CD,tuner...connect to the amp with signal RCA-RCA cabels. On the back of the amp you have all marked inputs. You wasn't specific what do you want to hook?!If you want to hook this "new" to kenwood connect rec out of it to aux in on kenwood. If oposite kenwood rec out to "new" aux in.Hope that this is what you need
