Hi I recently purchased a snes, it was working fine but the power cable was a bit dodgy, but when placed in a certain position works fine, it still seems to work and gives power to the console. The problem I have is that the screen is really dark and there is very little color to it, the game looks like it would play fine if I could get the color back again, it is so dark its unplayable. I have tried it on more than one TV so i know its not the TV. If you could help that would be great. Thanks - Aiden

It is possible that you will need new cords. (It sounds like you power cord has a short in the cable somewhere, so it may need replaced too.) A new video cable may fix the problem, but if it doesn't, the SNES may be on its las legs. In that case, you will need to purchase a new SNES or just turn up the brightness on the TV.

Super Nintendo picture flashes in & out on my flat screen

Check your cables and connection, they could be worn or cracked, try using on another tv or use a different device in the same plugins to verify if what is wrong

Nintendo not working with flat screen tv

The RCA red/white/yellow output of the SNES will plug into any similar input on your TV. If you're missing that cable, do a search on 'super nintendo cable' and you can buy one.

If your TV has only HDMI and no component inputs, then Belkin makes an adapter for that.

You old zapper gun won't work on a LCD screen because the refresh rate of the TV is too fast,so no Duckhunt for you.

Problems with the gray box on my SNES

Well to fix the gray bock you would need to by a broken SNES console off of ebay to find the needed part if you find a broken SNES console with a working motherbaord you might be able to swap the parts then. And will need a bypass plug from radio shack to hook it al toghter then. Its not an easy task and has an 8 out of 10 chance of not working if you don't know what your doing then and a 4.5mm tool bit to open up the SNES too.

Dead RF-out on SNES and vertical lines on Multi-out

The problem is likely in the IC soldered to your SNES circuitboard. The cheapest way to solve your problem is to replace the whole SNES circuitboard. These boards run about 20 dollars, Google part SNSPT007 or SNSPT009, depending upon if you have the older or newer version SNES. There is no soldering involved, so it should be an easy fix if you can open your SNES.

Snes screen jumps on certain tv

Okay, what I would try is hooking up the snes using the n64 cable. right next to the rf slot in the back of the super nintendo is a slot thats the same video output as the n64 you can plug in the rca cables from it and see if they work

Denon 3808ci won't upconvert old video game consoles

Since the games are so old and the SNES is an ancient console most tv's are made for the newer ones/Wii, Xbox, ETc./ So The Tv May Require Certain Wires for the console to function correctly, it also may be that your wires for the SNES are corroding in side *( Copper Wires Etc. )
