Error 36 means “I/O error” (input/output error) and does not explain what the cause of the problem is, sorry.

Check your Mac for bad blocks you can use Disk Utility.

For the most part, Error Code 36, which is typically perused as "The Finder can't finish the activity since a few information in "FileName" can't be perused or composed. (Blunder code - 36)" shows up when the client endeavors to reorder a gathering of records. It's not prone to happen when exchanging the area of a solitary record. Macintosh clients may likewise get an Error Code 36 while duplicating information to your USB drivers.

If you are getting a corrupted data message you can try to run disk cleanup on the drive to see if this fixes the problem.

How to run Check Disk in Windows 7

If this does not fix the problem then you will need to backup your files off the drive and do a full format. If you still have trouble after formatting the drive this is a sign that the drive is failing.

I can't burn CDs (maybe one out of 10 will write). The computer gives an error code 0x8002006e . Turns out there's a lot of talk on the Apple site about this but nobody has an answer. The drive also isn't...

  • just press the cmd+alt+esc keys
  • in the window that appeare, choose the finder application and press the restart button
  • insert a blank cd-r and try to burn the cd from iTunes or the finder.

It seems like a workaround but because I'll never restart my Mac (I always use the standby) I don't have to restart the finder application everytime I want to burn a cd.

I hope the "snow leopard" will fix the problem!

hope that helps anyone out there ..
