I've had this printer for ages but this is the first time this has happened.
I press the button to switch it on .....and nothing. I bought this new
maybe 6 years ago. Yes it's plugged in and I've tried changing outlets.
Any suggestions are greatly welcomed.
Robert

Replace the CMOS battery. In the Control Panel, Power Options, set to High Performance, open Advanced power settings, set Sleep and Hibernate to Never, Adjust other settings to your preference. Set Screen Saver Time. Always turn off the computer and unplug when not in use, it will prolong life and a reboot every day will reset the computer. I would say you have a issue with the outlet connections/plug. If you have a multimeter you can verify.
which television are you using? If there is a button on a remote named "INPUT" then press the INPUT button and select AVC. I hope it will fix the problem
I had this problem once before after changing ink cartridges, and I came to this site for help. I knew that I was supposed to press two buttons at the same time, but I could not remember which two. After reading a post here, I was reminded that the two buttons that must be pressed at the same time are "setup" and "options." It worked once again under these new circumstances. Thanks Again!
Turn power off and unplug power from computer.
Unplug printers,backup drives and speakers.
Open case and unplug power supply from the board.
plug power cord back in press the power button.
Of course nothing will happen.
unplug power cord again.
plug power supply back into the board.
plug power cord backup and press power switch.
If nothing happens unplug power cord again.
pull out your memory sticks and plug cord back in and press power button.
Of course not much will happen.
But really something is happening to your computer so continue.
Pull power cord and replace memory sticks.
replace power cord and press power switch.
Continue this pulling out pci cards one at a time until you find out what the problem might be.
Try different keyboards and mice too.
Good Luck
The micro switch is bad. I had the same problem cleaned the switch a few time (nd bought some time) but in the end I moved a switch from a cycle we did not use to the start position. Cost was nothing but my time (must have skills in soldering PCB assy). Worked fine since, almost a year now. However I have had several unrelated problems and would thing twice before putting any major money into this unit. In the 3 years I;'ve had this unit I've fixed the switch, installed a new pump assy and put in 2 thermal switches (unit appears dead when they go bad). I've done all this myself and the bills would be between $700 nad $1,000 to call service.
