you can force windows 8 to use windows 7 drivers, you just need to force it to accept it, unzip to a folder and point to that folder.

Does the drawing board III use WinTab for arcGIS 10?

ALL ESRI ARC Programs as far as I am aware use the Standard GTCO Tablet Works drivers. All GTCOCalcomp digitizers are or were level 1 supported by ESRI and the standard tabletworks driver will work just fine (This only applies to Windows versions of ARC, not Unix or other OS's)
Drivers can be obtained from GTCOCalcomp or from this link at the Interworld Site: http://www.interworldna.com/GTCO/gtco-drivers.php

If your digitizer has a serial interface use the SuperSet code 01 or 11. If you digitizer uses USB then no superset is active or needed (This only applies to GTCO or GTCOCalcomp Digitizers)

Calcomp or Summagraphics digitizers will need to be set to 9600,8,N,1 with High Resolution Biinary output to work with Tablet works. Hope this helps you

Pen will only draw in photoshop

I am giving you a link below that will tell you all you need to know about Wacom and Linux (gimp). There you can download the driver you need in order for your Intuos3 to work with GIMP. Let me know if this helps.

Pen pressure stopped working in photoshop

This has happened to me before, and I don't know any surefire way to fix it, but this usually helps--

First, try closing down photoshop and reopening it. Then the pressure should work.
If that doesn't work, do it over again but when you start drawing, try doing so on a new file. If it's STILL not working, my last suggestion is restarting the computer and trying again. I can usually get it working, but I'm not sure how exactly it happens XD;

Tablet not working

Hi know this is some months on but have just read your article! If you haven't solved this problem it may be something to do with having the incorrect driver. You could look up Wacom's website as they detail driver codes in relation to the Model No. of the tablet.
Also you might try disconnecting your usb cable after booting your mac, I've noticed myself that sometimes my tablet and mouse is not recognised (I'm using OSX10.4.9 on a G5 dual) but after unplugging the USB cable and plugging it back in it works fine, so this may be just some kind of bug that hasn't been fully addressed in the actual driver software itself? Anyway I hope this helps in some way, good luck!

Wacom Intuous

Make sure the Wacom system preferences has the default settings for the buttons. Also check the intuous website for the latest driver for 10.5.

My cursor was smooth and easy to draw with, but now it's all shaky and won't draw well!

the latest drivers have 2 modes...

1 open the driver control panel
2 at the top of the window double click the intuos3 tablet that is giving you problems
3 choose standard mode instead of recognition data

... this is at least what worked for me. I hope it helps.
