Question about ASUS P5PE-VM Motherboard
I want a laptop for college and, i do want to play some games like Guildwars as well. My budget was $1000 and i found this laptop for $1100 Asus G50Vm-X1. I have been told so many things am just not sure what to go with. I have been told get a better chip, and lesser graphics card, and the other way around. why would i do it either way? The graphics card in this laptop to my understanding is really nice, and the processor isnt that bad. It also fits into my budget and i have used Asus products before on my desktops. What would you say about this laptop? And what if not this might be a good suggestion in that price range. It wont let me put the Laptops model number below but here is a link to it's specs
Asus G50Vm-X1 is an excellent choice if you want a budget laptop powerful enough to play game at a not too high price. The 512 Mb cards will enable you to play recent games with efficient hardware acceleration.
If you want a pure gamer laptop, with top of the range CPU, you will need to start your budget from $1500 or so.
Do not buy laptops with two Gb RAM, they are slightly cheaper, but you will need to upgrade memory immediately if you want to play games.
Overall I think you are doing a good choice, if you buy a laptop with bigger CPU , you will have either to increase your budget, or to sacrifice some other resource, HDD size, RAM or video adapter, and you will need to pay more money later on, when you notice RAM is not enough or HDD is full.
