Mouse pointer has disappeared

Have had Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0, model 1007, which has worked fine for a long time. Nothing has changed about my system recently. Pointer has disappeared from screen, though light on the mouse and the receiver are both on. (I'm currently able to work in parallel by using my Thinkpad which is in a docking station). Have checked for updated driver, but what I have is the most up-to-date.

    Which button on the mouse?

  • beanb4 Aug 11, 2008

Thanks - didn't work initially, but have just changed the batteries (!) and now it's all go again. Does the mouse light usually keep working beyond the point where the batteries have enough juice left to drive the mouse?

Recalibrate your mouse and transmitter by pressing the button on the transmitter as well as the mouse. Make sure there in a range no more than 30 ft of each other.

On the bottom of the mouse there should be a reset button next to where you put the batteries in.

Usually it doesn't. It has a sleep mode on it as well.

Go into the control panel and click on the mouse icon and see if you can change to settings back to normal.

If not then check under your start menu and see if the intellimouse software is installed there and go into it to change the settings from there.

Couldn't find the answer to the right click mouse button not working.

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it to Reset/Connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly.
If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud

Normal 0 Normal 0 Recheck the magnifier to see if its set right.
Go to Control Panel and click on the Mouse icon. Then the mouse properties will appear showing the mouse buttons. In the Left column is the button settings.
