First set the clock on the brewer with the unit plugged in. Press and hold the Hour and Minute buttons until the current time is set. Next press the Delay Brew button while using the Hour and Minute buttons to reach the time you want the coffee to begin brewing.
Set up the coffee maker with ground coffee or beans and sufficient water in the reservoir then follow the directions below.
For brewing with fresh ground beans, press and hold the Delay Brew button until it flashes then press Select once. The Grind and Brew light should come on and the Delay Brew light should become steady.
For ground coffee, press and hold the Delay Brew button and then press Select twice. The Brew Only light and the Delay Brew light should both be on and steady.
Does it sound like it is trying to grind or is it silent? Listen carefully after pressing the coffee button. If it is silent then the motor has most likely died or the thermal fuse on the motor has blown due to motor overload and overheating. If you can hear a faint humming, then the grinder may just be blocked (or the dosing chamber located between grinder and brew unit (above brew unit) may be blocked). First try backing off the grind to the coarsest setting. Even if you can't hear the motor, it is worth backing off the grind anyway (easy to do) as you may be lucky. To clear doser, remove brew unit and look up. You shold see a curved trap door like thing that you can swing up to release or poke out stuck ground coffee. If the machine instantly makes that 'tuka tuka' sound after hitting the coffee button (like it does when it is dumping the coffee after grinding) then the flap or micro switch in the dosing chamber is stuck. Move the dose (grind quantity) adjustment lever back and forth a few times. If these suggestions don't help then take it to an authorised or expert repairer.
Sounds like either the grind is too fine or the brew unit is blocked at the shower screen. If the coffee ground discharged are wet, then the grind is too fine, if they are dry then the upper screen needs to be cleaned because it is blocked with coffee oils.
Try this press the button for ground coffee then when it lights up press the coffee brew button, if water flows normally then the grind on the grinder needs to be adjusted coarser, if no water then the screen on the brew unit is blocked.
The beep indicates numerous things. If the top lid is open, it will beep, if you try to depress the brew or timer buttons. There is a button next to the grinder unit, that gets depressed when you close the lid. Check the lid to make sure the tab on the lid hasn't broken. The beep also indicates that brew cycle has finished, although, that is supposed to be only 5 beeps.
