Hello.
I'm sure your local computer repair shop may take a look at it. But in my experience, most of the PC techs that I have worked with and worked for have a ton of certifications for networks and PC repair, but do not know how to fix most problems on a game console. It never hurts to try though. It may be a simple fix that I haven't tried yet. I'm still learning some tricks myself. Here at FixYa, they do have a repair shop refferal system. Look for the Repair Service box and enter your zip code. It should give you service centers near you. But every service center will charge you to diagnose the problem, then charge you for parts and labor to repair it. Some will put the money you paid for them to diagnose the problem towards the repair fee, so ask about that. I hope this helps. I wish you much luck.
This solution does not contain any spam or porn!! Why would it be considered inappropriate?!?! A computer is all this machine is. Any certified electronics tech with a multimeter and knowledge of microchips can fix these!!! NO ONE should have to shell out $150 to Sony for them to fix thier mistakes!!! I DO know what I'm talking about since I have cleaned, repaired, refurbished and sold over 100 PS3 units all with a 60 day warranty and free annual cleaning. I have not had one complaint yet!!!! There are only 3 PS3 malfunctions that I am working with other techs to figure out still as it is a very tedious process since Sony will not share the schematics!!!!
