The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is highly customizable and you have been hard at work tweaking it to your liking, but now the fun is over and you want to return it to its factory settings again.
Here, we show you how to hard reset the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 with step by step instructions.
Please note that all data will be deleted from the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 as a result of this procedure. This process may or may not delete data stored on the microSD card. We recommend backing up all of your personal data before proceeding.
First, try this:
1. From the main home screen, tap menu 2. Tap Settings, then SD card & phone storage 3. Tap Factory data reset 4. Tap Reset phone 5. Enter your password, then tap Erase everything to confirm
If that doesn't work, or if your phone is frozen:
1. Turn the power off. If your Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it 2. Hold the Left and right buttons located beneath the display 3. Press and release the Power button 4. Follow the on-screen instructions to hard reset your Xperia X10
All data including third-party applications will be deleted from the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. Once the wipe is complete, the phone will reboot to its factory fresh state.
Same problem was with mine phone.
The problem is that your flex cable (aka "patti") is damaged due to its to and fro motion while sliding the phone.
flex cable is a flexible cable that connects everything in the front part of the phone (3g camera, control keys and screen) to the motherboard in back part of the phone.
Your number keys are working because they are present in the back part of the phone and are not connected through flex cable
Please switch off your Sony EricssonXPERIA X1 phone and putout the battery from phone after few minuts again insert the battery into the phone and switch on it. I believe your problem will be shout out.
You could possibly buy a new screen on Ebay but there about £18.00 or look for a faulty one on ebay which says faulty keys or look for one where you can see the picture working. It your not sure how to disassemble it just go here http://www.formymobile.co.uk/Dismantle/w810disassembly.htm
I would get in touch with sony ericsson you can find there number on google or if it is new it should have it on the box they are open 24 7 i think hope it helps :)
More than likely you will need to replace the LCD screen. The backlight may have burned out making it blank or it the LCD connector may have come loose.
A new LCD screen runs about 15 dollars shipped from ebay.
The W580i LCD is easy, easy to replace. Probably one of the easiest I have ever done.
Check out the following link for instructions on replacing the LCD display and links to buy the screen.
