Had the nd error and smelled like burning wires. Read a review here and removed drain pump and a piece of plastic stuck in the impeller. Removed, inspected and reinstalled. Worked perfect! Thanks
We were heading out next day to buy new washer and dryer at $2000! Yikes!

SOURCE: "howling" noise during spin cycle (still there after changing burned off belt)

Travioso, there was two service flashes out on this model concerning the seal and bearing which means they had an issue with this washer. The howling noise you are hearing is the bearing and will need the new designed triple seal and bearing kit. This should be covered under your warranty, I believe it is 5 years. The numbers for the service flashes are TDL-0048A-B. Call Maytag and inquire about these service flashes, these should be covered. Catriver.

SOURCE: my maytag neptune mah550bww will not start up , gives a code FL

The FL error code means:
Flood Condition: FL flashes if any overfill condition occurs. This condition occurs when excessive water in the tub causes the overfill switch to trip. The control must realize that the trip was due to an overfill condition instead of a suds lack condition in order for FL to be displayed

With an overfill condition, the beeper repeats a warning every 10 seconds with no time-out. The pump is cycled in drain mode for 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off until the overfill switch resets or power is discontinued to the unit.

Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

This problem i see on these are the water pumps getting clogged with lint or other things, causing the pump not to pump all of the water out at times.

There is a backup valve or flap in the drain assembly that seems to sometimes cause problems with the FL error code. Remove this piece to see if it helps.

If this is a new installation - check that the hoses arent reversed (cold on hot and hot on cold). This will also cause the FL error.

Brand new LG Washer/Dryer combo is making a terrible howl. Defective?

Sounds defective. All in ones are a compromise. You would be better off with a stacked unit. Try kneeing it when it is doing it. See if it changes pitch.

MAH550BWW front load Maytag washer-gasket drainis clogged

There is a 2" L shape hose connected to that drain hole under. You can unclog it using a soft plastic stick. Stick it on to that hole do not force it turn the plastic stick while putting it in. Thare are 2 types of door gasket on that model one has hole in it and the other doesn't. If your original doesn't have a hole, the one that has a hole will work but there is a plug on to that hole.

This is your door gasket

Just take the front panell off to see if there's a small hose connected to the gasket drain hole. You can even clean it after taking the panell off

When I turn up the sound a horrible buzzing noise comes on . When I opened the battery section one of them was corroded. I cleaned it up it worked fine for awhile .Now the buzzing.Help me.

it is possible that the battery electrolyte had leaked into your main printed board and partially shorted or createda bridged connection in the audio section resulting in the buzzing or howling. What could be done is to wash the PCB ALONE with petrol , do not let it fall on any gear or plastci or dial, but use a small tooth brush to dip and clean the PCB, dry the pcb, Use a soldering iron to melt off bad soldering due to the electrolyte and make a good joint onthe smeared section. clean your contacts and test. I hope this must work out well. Repeat otherwise. Helpful. Good day

MAKES HORRIBLE NOISE AT THE START, SEEMS TO WORK OK OTHERWISE

The first step in a dishwasher's program cycle is activating the drain pump. If there are obstructing objects in the impeller it could make noise, also if the drain pump's bearings/motor is damaged. I don't know what you meant by taking out bottom part, maybe it was the drain pump you checked?

If you didn't this is normally an easily accessible component, when you have it out you can also check that the impeller rotates freely and that it feels and sounds ok in the bearings.

Maybe there is a possibility to attach a sound file here, it would help to diagnose the problem.

My dryer was making a horrible scrubbing noise and now won't dry

My 14 yr. old Maytag dryer made the same type of noise. It was the fan. The plastic had broken loose around the shaft. As the shaft turned fast, the fan turned more slowly, hence the noise. Replaced the fan ---- perfect drying and no noise. $26.00 for new fan.
