the points for the kettle, the points are cracked and no heat is generated however if I connect the kettle and bypass the points the kettle heats up. so I need points

I have a customer that has a cretor diplomat popcorn popper and the kettle is not level and we need to know how to fix it?

Inside the kettle support there is a large spring which aids in the dumping of the kette. It relieves some of the weight of the kettle . There is a ajustment inside on the right side of the spring that changes where the kettle rest point is. Loosen 2 set screws to move the cam to move the rest position . Tighten up the set screws . your done !

Take the kettle crossbar assy off the kettle and look and see if there is a set collar above the shaft weight. If so loosen it so you can slide the weight up...enough to get the old one out and the new one in.

What keeps the kettle in the upright position while poping?

The profiteer kettle is held upright from the gas spring/shock type unit opposite the handle.
It is very common for the spring to wear out and the kettle to sag after time. I see them replaced about every 2-3 years on that model.

Replacing the return spring will bring the kettle back up to it's horizontal popping position.

Most likely the problem is one of the following:
1. Your Heating Element went bad and needs replacing.
2. The On/Off Switch for the Kettle has gone bad.
3. A wire has come loose.

Since you are already out of the warranty period, if you have an electrician in the house, they could unplug the popper, remove the top dome and inspect the switch, look for loose wires, etc.

For replacement parts or further troubleshooting, call Nostalgia Electrics at 920-347-9122
