The way i fix this, and mine does it quite often, is to either unplug it from the wall outlet and let it stand or a minute or two, or with the unit off, open the tray and close it, and it will recognise the disc then.

How do i change the unsupported format to play a dvd

DVD players have 5 regions. And on the back of every DVD you buy the region code is marked in side a circle ( like a globe ).
Region 1 is North America
Region 2 is Europe . Middle East & South Africa
Region 3 is South East Asia,
Region 4 is South America, Mexico, Australia
Region 5 is India , USSR, Africa.
To change the region code of your Lifestyle 38 DVD player follow the steps given below.
Make sure you familiarize yourself with the buttons on the remote and not fumble while keying in the sequence given below.
Make sure there is no disc in the tray of the player and it is closed ( tray ).

First step - Press RIGHT arrow, UP arrow, SHUFFLE, STOP, MUTE

To change to a specific region code
Step two --- Open the disc tray
Step three --Press STOP
Step four --- Press SHUFFLE
Step five ---. Press # key for desired region from the list given above.
Step six ---- Press ENTER.
Turn off the DVD player wait for a 10 seconds and restart. It should work.
Enjoy your foreign DVD's. Cheers!!.

Dvd player will not eject or play dvd. It just keeps spinning and says "reading." I've tried unplugging for 2 minutes, pushing close/open and stop at the same time(hold for at least 3 seconds)....

Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and turn the player ON. Attempt to open the disc tray. Depending on the model number of your DVD player, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons. If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons.6 Jan 2013

I want the code to play Zone 2 DVDs on my DVD which is set for 4

1) Turn on the player with no disc in the tray
2) Press the Open/Close button to open the tray
3) Press the info button, the firmware version shows up (
4) After the version info disappears, close the tray again by pressing the Open/Close button
5) At this point, it will show "no disc" at the top. Press the Info button again, and this will disappear. If the "no disc" does not disappear then try again by using the REPEAT button
6) Now type the code that applies for your region (R2 is 57538). A '2' will briefly show up at the top left corner
7) Now press 9, and 9 will show up in the top left corner
8) Power off the player, and turn it on again. You'll have a multi region player

I've found the following codes at the 1080P7 hack:
R1 - 29334
R2 - 57538
R3 - 56732
R4 - 76884
R5 - 53814
R6 - 24462
This worked on my dvd1080p9 R2 DVD player

My go video is locked. How do i unlock it?

You can unlock by pressing and holding the Power switch. Sometimes it will then allow you to eject the disk after it restarts, but not always.

Other Region codes for Samsung DVD 1080PK

Region code hack posted by anindo_roy, January 09 2009:
I bought a Samsung DVD player 1080PK in Bangalore recently (Jan 2009) and initially it was coded only for region 5 (India). I went through the following steps (which were told to me by a Samsung technician) to make it region free. This steps match closely to the one posed by another viewer so I have retained the same format.
1) Turn on the player with no disc in the tray
2) Press the Open/Close button to open the tray
3) Press the info button, the firmware version shows up
4) After the version info disappears, close the tray again by pressing the Open/Close button
5) At this point, it will show "no disc" at the top. Press the Info button again, and this will disappear.
6) Locate the Repeat A-B button on the remote, which in my case was ‘9’
6) Now type the code that applies for your region (R5 (India) is 53814) followed by 9 (Repeat A-B button) and then press the Enter button. So enter 538149 and then Enter. A last few digits ‘4’ and '9' may briefly show up at the top left corner.
8) Power off the player, and turn it on again. You'll have a multi region player
Region Code for the 1080PK hack:
R1 - 29334
R2 - 57538
R3 - 56732
R4 - 76884
R5 - 53814
R6 - 24462
This worked for me after a couple of tries.
