The washer stops before the cycle is complete. I have to press the "Start stop/pause" button to get it to resume, then it usually completes the cycle. I already jumped the lid switch wires to make sure it wasn't related to the lid switch.

Fridgidaire frontloader washer stuck on pause

Hello Angela Gilmer - Usually when "PAU" displays on the screens, it indicates that the unit thinks that the door is not securely latch when you started the cycle, or the cycle has been interrupted. Try pressing "PAUSE/CANCEL" or "START/PAUSE" once to resume washer. If proves to be ineffective, try reprogramming the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. If fault reoccurs, then it typically means that the unit has a faulty door latch. If you aren't certain that the door is properly shut, then the latch assembly may need replacing. Contact a professional to assist with the repairs.

Hello Mary Fortner - It means that the washer has been paused; the cycle has been interrupted. Either the "Pause/Cancel" button or "Start/Pause" button has been pressed. To resume wash - press "Pause/Cancel" or "Start/Pause" once. If this does not prove to be successful please turn the breaker to the unit off for 5 minutes. Then turn the breaker back on to the unit, and retry the cycle setting again.

Rental...no manuel...first time using washer. pushed regular, large, cold, pause resume. When it finished filling with water it beeps 3x than stops for a couple minutes then beeps 3x etc. It is filled...

Your problem is with the pause/resume button. This button allows you to add/remove items before the cycle is complete. If you press this button and there is water in the machine it will beep for a period of time (3 mins) and then empty the machine automatically so you can open the door. After opening the door the cycle can be restarted again by pressing the pause/resume button again.
