you need to configure your Internet Protocol (IP) that synchronous the network. if you using WIFI you may need encryption code from your network provider.. beware on installing driver, it comes crashing in your machine.
right click "my computer", left click properties, select "Device Manager" Expand anything to do with "Network Adapters" and make sure there are no problems / exclamation marks / unknown devices. If there are, look for your wireless driver on.. http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=uk&cc=uk&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=compaq+evo+n800&submit=Go+%C2%BB depending on your model. if this doesn't work go to www.hp.co.uk and download the driver then install it. If you can't detect any wireless networks, make sure your wireless card is activated - I believe this involves holding down FN (bottom left of keyboard) while then pressing F2 key at top. after this try try to search for wirless access points points.
Even my q6600 clocked at 3.6 Ghz gives me 12ms latency. It turns out the tascam highest latency is 12ms also on my p3 3.0 ghz pc. I haven't tried the tascam on my q6600 - I use an Emu 1820m on that. But try testing the tascam on a really fast computer. It's probably your dell's middling motherboard that's the slow down as well as all the extra stuff installed on dell's and especially notebooks that are robbing the usb bus of it's bandwidth. In most cases with the tascam, it's the pc or a low latency setting. If you want a great card for serious work: The EMU 1616m pcmcia card is a great card! Even SoundonSound loves them. Emu just makes great soundcards that rival any card out there for the best prices. Emu also gives the most control via it's excellent PatchMix software, but Patchmix does require an average IQ and about 10 minutes of reading.
First, as this is a type 3 mini pci slot that has your modem installed need to know if under or near the pci modem there are 2 wires with micro mini attach points. these would be the wires to attach the antenna to the wireless card. If there are no wires, then you will have to purchase the antennas as well. Normally these wires run up under the back side of the LCD Bezel.
Sounding complicated yet? Have you considered a USB wireless adapter from Newegg.com, tigerdirect.com,geeks.com,zipzoomfly.com,or e-bay, not to mention local stores.
