Hotpoint 1200 wd62n banging noise when loaded but ok when its empty ?

There are many reasons that this could be noisy...

When you turn the drum (quickly) when it's empty does it rumble? Bearings, drum support or motor bearings.

If it sounds like a pneumatic drill when filled and spinning it could be drum support, bearings, balance weight or suspension.

These are not an exhaustive list but the usual suspects.

Dryer only hums when turned on. The drum does not rotate, but the belt is intact.

Hi there. Sounds like it is a dead motor. Check it by measuring the terminals on the motor when you hear the humming sound. If it reads 110VAC on the meter the motor is dead or seized. Might also be the drum that is jammed. Check the drum holes for a screw or something that locks it?

The drum of the dryer does not turn.

Remove the top panel of the dryer and confirm whether or not the belt is tight on the drum. You can also remove the panel near the exhaust to observe the motor. If the belt is intact, the motor is most likely at fault.

Dryer works but drum will not go round also the belt is perfect so it is not that

is the belt a good tight fit on the drum??? is the motor turning? can you turn the drum by hand? if you cant turn the drum by hand its likley to be drum bearings stuck up or sezed up motor?

Hotpoint dryer was moved, now only clicks, won't start

Rough handling may have the drum belt to get binded. Try turning the drum by hand to see if it turns free or is locked. This may align the belt to the motor or may just take off the belt altogether from the motor. You will have to get inside access to see whats up. Once inside realign the belt to the motor and pulley assembly. Then CHECK ALSO that no wire connections inside came apart during moving. Good luck

Our gas LG dryer suddenly stopped working. The display works fine, however when turned on, the drum doesn't rotate, and makes a loud humming noise.

check for a motor start capacitor on the side of the drum motor, some use a start cap,if not then either the start relay on the end of the motor where the wires are is bad or the motor bearings are dried out and the motor is locked-up,usually this will trip the circuit breaker though, remove the drum belt and see how easily and how long the motor shaft rotates when spun by hand it should coast to a stop

Hi.
Unfortunately, you cannot fit new bearings to the motor.
Your only option is to replace the complete motor.
