Can't find definite details for this model but you can try. Open front door, press "Options" hopefully you will see "replace drum" message in LCD. Enter 1 or 2 as appropriate. Hope this helps..

How to reset " replace drum" for brother MFC-7860DW

Time to really order a new drum and really replace with a new one.
Resetting the drum unit will not improve print quality. It only resets your drum and allows you to continue to print. You decide when to replace the drum unit not the manufacturer!

1.Remove the drum unit and toner cartridge. Wait 1 or 2 minutes.
2.Replace the drum unit and toner cartridge into printer.
3.The error message "Change Drum Soon/Drum end soon" will continue to appear if the drum counter was not reset when you replace the drum unit.
4.To clear this error message, you need to reset the drum counter as instructed below.
5.Make sure that the machine is turned on.
6.Press Options.
To confirm you are installing a new drum, press 1.
7.When the LCD shows Accepted, close the front cover.
8.Your drum is now reset.

Drum end soon again

My MFC-7420 began to display the message "Drum end soon" so I quickly went out and purchased a new drum. But I decided not to install it until I needed to. Because what does "drum end soon" mean? I thought it would mean that the print quality would deteriorate enough that I would notice the problem. So I continued to replace toner as needed, and pushed the blue cleaning thing down the wire regularly. This went on for over 3 years until *finally* I started having regular print job production problems. I replaced the drum, and the problems were solved. So,my advice is be prepared, but don't replace the drum until you have to -- the message means very little.

Drum end soon brother mfc 7320 printer usb002

My Brother MFC 7420 said drum end soon, so I ordered a new drum. Then I waited for something to go wrong before I replaced it. Basically I was looking for a deterioration in print quality. I waited and waited. I think it was over 3 years. I replaced the toner a few times. While the print quality never really went done, the frequency of other problems finally shot up. When I replaced the drum the problems went away. My advice -- ignore the warning unless you have other problems.

Printer says "drum end soon". I don't even know

The drum is the part of the printer that the image of what you want to print is stored on by a laser drawing on that drum. That drum is then charged with an electrostatic shock that will draw up toner particles from your toner tray that will eventually be transferred to a piece of paper that will be heated to fuse the ink particles on the paper. That drum is photo sensitive and eventually looses its ability to be charged. You will then have to replace that drum.

I rec'd a fax this morning w/ a 2" solid black line on the right hand column. I also noticed that the screen reads "drum end soon." Are those two things related? And, what is "drum...

print out an internal report of some kind from the control panel. if line/band is still there, then drum most likely is the problem. sometimes however, that band can originate from the sending fax. "drum end soon" means your drum has come close to the 17,000 prints it is rated for and you need to get a DR110 drum unit. the drum unit is what your 4 toners sit in.

MFC 7340 - I changed the toner cartridge, and cleaned the corona wire as instructed. When I put the drum unit back in, I get the message "Open front cover clean corona wire". I clean the corona...

The drum unit may be at it's end. There is a report you can print that will say "Drum" life at the bottom of the page. I think it's the "User Settings" or something. Though it sounds like you can't print to find this out anyway....Do you recall how many times you've changed the toner without changing the drum? Usually you can expect about 4-5 toners on every drum. Once the drum's photo sensitive coating wears off it is incapable of charging correctly to print. Might just be time for regular maintenance.
