Cooling fan runs continuously, even after shutting the ignition off

sounds like it could be a relay.

With everything plugged in and the fans running with the key off remove the cooling fan 1 fuse. Do they stop?

If they do not stop remove the cooling fan 2 fuse. Do they stop?

Draft Inducer problem

On the call for heat from the thermostat the inducer should come on first, a pressure switch proves that the inducer is moving enough air up the stack, closes and energizes the ignition and burners come on. 30 to 60 seconds later the blower comes on. Everything should stay on as long as the thermostat is still calling for heat. When the thermostat is satisfied the burner and inducer shut off and the fan will run to remove the heat from the heat exchanger and then shut off. Cycle complete. Some inducers have a post purge so when the thermostat is satisfied the burner shuts off, the inducer runs for 30 seconds or so and then shuts off. I am thinking that your furnace may be running on the limit switch and when the burner is off but the inducer stays on, maybe the limit is shutting of the inducer. Check your air filter and make sure all your heat registers are open and that the return air grill is not blocked.

Had a problem with the thermostat connected to GW-50-4 Wall furnace. One fan is not working at all, the other fan runs continuously even when the furnace isn't running. Is there a control swith or...

Jake, it sounds like the motor coil wiring on the blower that doesn't work may be damaged or has been disconnected.

Regarding the one that is still running. The automatic fan control is located on the bottom of the blower assembly. The fan control is a nonadjustable, automatic type. The fan control will require between 3 and 7 minutes of main burner operation before the fan control "closes" and activates the blower. The blower will continue to run between 3 and 7 minutes after the main burner shuts off, before the fan control "opens" and deactivates the blower. In which case, if it continues to run and run and run, the fan control switch (part # R-2503) may have failed and will need to be replaced. You can order the part from Empire Comfort Systems Tech Service 800-851-3153. Have the Model Number, Serial Number of the heater handy, as well a the Part Number. when you call.

To help you further, I have included a link to the Owner's Manual for that model wall heater. You can download and print it for future reference.

I hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

When Thermostat is satisfied and shuts down the furnace, the furnace fan will not shut off. It is supposed to continue to run but only for a short time. This one will not shut off at all.

Your thermostat has a feature for the fan AUTO or ON. If it is in the AUTO position and still won't shut down then I would check the Fan relay. Newer models have a control board with the relays built into them so the control board would be suspect. Older models use a Fan/limit. The limit has a probe in it. As the heater warms the bi-metal inside it twists around and the fan comes on at about 110f. When the thermostat is satisfied the burner shuts down but the fan still runs till the heater cools down the bi-metal cools off and shuts down that fan. These will hang up with age.

Heat would not come on and fan would not cut off even when thermostat was set to off. Took off the outside panel of the unit and red light was blinking 7 times - rollout switch fault. Since fan would not...

this means that the rollout switch was tripped by a flame coming from burners. could be a plugged fue or bad inducer motor, or a bad rollout switch. the fan will not shut off as a safety feature it keeps running incase the heat exchanger is to hot to keep a fire from starting. it will shut off after disconnecting power and restarting everything. watch the flames from burner when it lights to see if the actually roolout of the burner box toward the rollout sensor.

Burners shut down at set temp but fan continues lowering temp

the reason he told you not to cycle the power is because some where there is a flashing light that he can decode and tell him where to start looking for the problem. Call him next it happens and don't touch the power or the stat until he gets to see the unit.
