You can use either an HDMI cable or a VGA cable to connect your computer to your TV. Your computer has both HDMI and VGA ports. You can use either ports but you cannot use both or else your video card will crash.

I think you can use a HDMI cable to connect your machine to TV but you have to make sure that the TV have a HDMI port, most likely HD TV have that connection. If you want to make sure you can go to this link to check the where the HDMI port located on your machine.
