My GM5472 (AMD Chip) has been running very hot over the past few weeks - over 100 degrees C! I've cleaned the fans out and now have a fan leaning against the box, which keeps the temp down. Question is - the system is running extremely slow. I did all the normal checks for viruses and RAM issues, no luck. It's slow both on and off the net. Are these things related? What can I do?

-try adding additional fan in the casing -in adding fan make sure that you have a blower fan and a exhaust fan where in air can get in and out inside the case.
-add thermal paste/grease between the processor and the heat sink. it is often used to aid the processor's thermal or heat transfer via heat sink. -you can also add blower fan in the chipset of the motherboard -you can also add heatspreader in the memory. -check the power supply if you are getting enough power -having too much power may result in over heating and may damage the devices -having less power may result slow system and bad performance.

Hp rp5000 shuts off without warning

do not turn on your pc until you complete the next steps you may damage your pc in a critical way CPU is running to hot remove the fan you will find a large silver chip should either be covered in white paste or silver paste if this substance is hard clean off with contact cleaner( do not remove the chip) also clean off the bottom of the fan in the same way go on eBay buy some thermal grease comes in sachets or syringes whit or silver which is the best use one sachet or one syringe cover the chip evenly replace the fan boot up if this still happens then you may have cooked the CPU or mother board

Hello. I have a Bryant 561CJ030-D AC unit. The fan comes on but doesn't seem to be cooling. We have had record high temps the past couple of weeks (over 100 degrees), and I'm wondering if the...

Is the compressor turning on? The fan may be running, but you will not get cooling effect unless the compressor is circulating refrigerant. It appears your unit is a 2.5 ton unit. What is the square footage of the space being cooled? Is the space insulated?

Blower fan running constant after new fan and limit switch installed.more info.Honeywell-tradeline.L4064B 2210, combination fan and limit control, adjustable fan differential with manual fan switch, flush...

Here's my best shot.
Check the temperature settings for the fan switch.
The low OFF setting should be about 100 degrees.
The ON setting should be around 150 degrees and this is the setting that "makes" the ON contacts.
The HIGH LIMIT setting should be about 180 degrees.
If these are set, can you use a meter to see if the FAN ON contacts are closed?
Lastly, it appears that one hot line should go to one side of the blower and the other hot line should go to the bottom FAN terminal with the other side of the blower being fed by wiring from the top FAN terminal.
Good Luck. Gary

Have you replaced the heat sink thermal paste?
Also the fan blades may look clean, but have you removed the fan and checked the outlet grill that the fan blows through, it gets clogged with fluff, dust and hair etc.

Can heat hurt your appliances?

Hot weather may affect the refrigerator as the domestic regrigerators are typically not designed for hot ambient conditions, manufactures make the assumption that you are not going to let your house get to 100 degrees (I have when I lived in Tulsa) so the condensers are smaller. Make sure the condenser is clean all the time when its hot and that the fan (if equipped) is clean and running. I had a small squirrel cage blower that was a combustion fan for a furnace I sat so it would blow more air across the condenser.

Motherboard A8V-E SE core Temperature at 58C is that normal?

Hi

AMD's CPU temperature's range from 10-85 degrees, the normal is around 48-60 degrees. So your within the normal. Sometimes depending on what your doing, the chip will run up to 70 or so, that's also normal, but you want to make sure that it doesn't stay at 70 for long. It will shorten the life of the CPU.

Thanks for asking on FixYa

My AMD X 2 4000+ Windsor is overheatting

Hi, you shouldnt even switch on the PC if its running at that temperature, machine will be restarting and shutting down on you.
If you just bought it, you should take it back to the shop.
Otherwise you need to remove the old heatsink and fan and apply new thermal paste to the cpu and resit the heatsink, if its still running very hot over 50c you will probably find the cpu has been damaged.

Have a nice christmas
