Be sure that your MovieBox capture device is selected under Studio's "Setup/Capture Source" selection (assuming you're capturing analog). If the MovieBox doesn't show up in that selection window, there could be a problem with the device.
Additionally, check in the Diskometer left-hand panel (this is found at the center of the bottom of the screen) and see that the correct input port value (either composite or s-video) is selected.
If you're capturing digital, then you'll have to use a Firewire connection to the MovieBox device.
Open your Studio 12 and then click on capture tab and then go ahead and click on setup capture source under video click and choose your dazzle device. Connect your yellow red and white cable to your dazzle and then end part to your HI 8 camcorder. Open your camcorder and when the video showing to your preview windows of Studio 12 then hit start capture

Only requirements I see are video and audio input connections on our PC for the transfer/capture device. There are no actual drivers installed on Vista. If you are using Pinncale Studio software to work with the captured video, they do have versions advertised for Vista and Windows 7. If you have an older version, you may want to check the system requirements for that version. Upgrade versions appeared to be available.
I found with pinnacle 12 if you turn of the hardware acceleration and turn off the full-res preview,in video and audio preferences it speeds up transitions and text effects tremendously
You need a TV tuner card to be able to read both audio-video signal, else how are you going to covert analog to digital. The VCR gives out analog output. ........sodeep
