Clarions website of past models is skimpy to put it lightly. I recently got a boat with a Clarion CDC1205 12 disc changer and a blank spot where the head unit was. I have figured out that it is C-Bus and have the cable from the changer to where the head unit will go. Can anyone tell me if any other cables need to go to changer (power cable?) and how I can tell if a head unit will control the changer?
Thanks in advance

Check the antenna cable or antenna
is connected properly to the back of the unit, and check the cable all
the way along to the antenna - these are prone to internal corrosion
when they get a bit old. Easiest way to check is to get a new antenna
and cable (they are cheap) and plug it in directly to the back of the
unit.
Check the ground connection of the unit is good - any terminals might need a clean up - disconnect the battery first.
These guys have a service manual for sale;

out of focus.
if all of your discs have the same error code 6, it is optical lens problem. have it checked to the nearest service center.
