Have looked at other solutions to this which say there must be a leak somewhere and that the "internal water tray is full and needs emptying manually" but don't say how to do this or what else one can do oneself before calling an expensive engineer in! Help!!

Empty out th bottom tray - siphon it , use sponge, whatever, Then clean out the drain and snake out the tubing in there to get rid of any debris that is causing a clog in the works.

SOURCE: dishwasher error codes please help

I too had this problen today. Printed off a manual from the Hotpoint website. Very helpful troubleshoot section. Anyway, flashing eco and fast lights and beeping sound indicates 'water feed pipe blocked' You need to check the water inlet connections on your tap. However, when we pulled it out we noticed the blue water inlet pipe was slightly kinked. Straightened this out and hey presto! It works fine again. How this happens when its worked ok for 18 months will never know but still. Try it! hope this was helpful...shewoo

SOURCE: DISHWASHER IS LEAKING A LOT OF WATER

I had the same problem with my machine - ie lots of water coming out front about two thirds of the way through the cycle - engineer (local and very reliable) knew as soon as he came in that I had started bying Powerball 5 dishwasher tablets - they produce too much foam (try opening the door during the cycle and see the amount of foam) and it therefore comes out of the overflow parts on the door. I tried Magnum 5 and got the same problem. Now I stick to either Asda's own basic (not the 5) or I buy the Magnum ones and cut them in half. Has never leaked since!

SOURCE: Fault with Hotpoint BCI45 Dishwasher

This a generic problem with hotpoint dishwashers..
Water is present in the flood catching tray at the bottom which usually indicates that there is a leak somewhere. More often than not this is just a pipe with a poor fitting and simply tightening the clip is enough to stop the leak. Our machine had a very slow leak from one pipe (not enough to trigger the alarm) which was fixed in this way. The leak is detected by a small float switch located in the flood catch tray.

Undo 4 screws on the metal plate under the dishwasher 3 at the front 1 at the back, this reveals The pump check the seals are in place on the waste pump.

SOURCE: Salt tray full of water

No problem - just tip it in and it will displace the water.

Samsung dishwasher light flashing delicate

I had same issue. The dishwasher drains just fine, but keeps on giving that error. Luckily, I'm still under warranty. And they said it was the ECS sensor. It thinks there is water backed up when there isn't.

We have a hoptpoint ultima super silent fdw80 dishwasher, displaying the code AL01, we have already tried the the 2 solutions listed & the fault still shows, any ideas?

Hi,
You have a leak around the pump area and need to locate and repair this to use this unit. This fault code is to protect you home. This mean your unit is leaking during use and water is collecting in the base pan. You may need to run the unit were you can see the leak to repair. If possible you may also check you drain hose, it that leak it can also drain back into the base pan.
Good Luck

Hi I have a Hotpoint fdw80 witch is displaying an error code AL10. Please can you tell me what this means so I can decide a course of action. Many Thank's Amanda

I found these error codes for the hotpoint fdw80

AL01 - Anti flood switch operated
AL02 - Valve or connections
AL03 - Time out - drain
AL04 - Thermistor (module)
AL05 - Circulation pump
AL06 - Time out - fill
AL07 - Not used
AL08 - Time out - heat
AL09 - Software recogntion error
AL10 - Heating circuit
AL99 - Communications error - connectors, cables etc.
H20 - Time out - fill (taps)

Now looking at AL10 error. Most often it is the heater element which is not effective due to scale formation. Make a solution of white vinegar and water (50:50) pour it onto the base of the dishwasher. Leave overnight and run dishwasher as normal. Somehow the vineger has to reach the heating element which is an inline heater. I am assuming normally you would use the hotwater connection from the kitchen tap.

If this does not help - depends how soon into the cycle you get the error you will have to replace the heater. I think it would look like this.

I have AL01 on my dish washer eny ideas?

Hi,

AL01 indicates activation of the anti flood device.

It sounds like water has leaked into the base of your machine.
Pull the appliance out, unplug it from the wall socket and tip it rearwards about 45 degrees. Drain the water out and once empty the anti flood should reset.

Try the machine again. If it faults during the test you may have a leak into the base.

Good luck with the repair
Hope this helps
Thanks.

ALO1 flashing. Its as if the dishwasher is draining all the time. Won't reset even when turned off at the wall. Debbie

AL01 is activated when the dishwasher develops a leak and the internal water tray has filled with water. This activates the pump to drain water from the dishwasher. The tray needs emptying manually however and the source of the leak needs to be traced. Probably best to get an engineer in to do that.
