Netgear Super-G Wireless Router WGT624 v4

Hello,
I just puchased this router and am trying to install it. Right at the start, it starts to gather the current network configuration... It says that the internet connection is unavailable, but at the same time I can be online too...
It also tells me to turn off firewalls and such... I dont know how.

Hi, could you help me connect to default gateway when setting up a router. I tried connecting to http://192.168.2.1 but doesn't work. thanks.

Hello! Try to configure your network card`s IP address to 192.168.2.x (x = 2-255) and make sure the router is reseted to its defaults. To do this go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing > Change adapter settings and then right click on your network card > Properties, highlight IPv4 and click Properties. You just need to enter the IP and the Subnet Mask. After you`re done configuring the router change everything back to defaults.

I have a N600 wireless dual band gigabit router and I am trying to find the right software. The software I have is labeled super-g - wireless router WGT624. Is this the right software for this router?

Actually, there is _NO_ need to use any software at all to configure the router.

Connect an Ethernet cable between the one of the LAN ports on the router to the network-port on your computer.

Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
Type IPCONFIG
Press Enter
Look for output like: Default Gateway.............192.168.xxx.yyy
Start Internet Explorer
Enter: http://192.168.xxx.yyy
to access the web-server "inside" the router.
Login to the router.
Click to run the "Setup Wizard" to configure the router.
Click to run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard" to configure the wireless interface.
Now, you can disconnect the Ethernet cable, and "view available wireless networks",
to view the network that you just defined.

Hi I'm looking to install a DG834G router to give wireless access but the only instal disc is from AOL and I'm not with them anymore, I have tiscali broadband. How do install the router if it won't plug...

Try NOT using any install disk.

Turn the TISCALI router off.
Turn the NetGear off.

Use an Ethernet cable to connect from the LAN port on the TISCALI router to the WAN port on the router.

Use another Ethenet cable to connect from one LAN port on the router to the network-port on your computer.

Turn the TISCALI on. Wait 60 seconds.
Turn the NetGear on. Wait 60 seconds.
Restart your computer.
Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
Type IPCONFIG
Press Enter
Look for output like: Default Gateway....192.168.123.456
Note that the '123.456' will be some other numbers.
Start Internet Explorer.
Type http://192.168.123.456 (substitute the current values)
Login to the web-server running on the router.
Run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard"
to configure a SSID, an encryption-level (use 'WPA')
and a password for your network.
After the router restarts, you should be able to get wireless access, using the SSID and password that you configured your router to use.

Computer wont recognize cable hookup

You will have to start the configuration from the wired network rather than the wireless network. Connect the computer directly to the router. I am assuming you might be trying to configure the router from the wireless network. Then use the installation CD to configure the router

My wireless adaptor can not find my wireless router

Please check tour wireless adapter if its working and properly installed in your computer. Here's how to do it;

Checking Device Status on the Device Manager

For Windows 2000 or XP:

1. Click on Start, go to Settings and then Control Panel.
2. Click on System, go to Hardware and then Device Manager.
3. Click the (+) sign on Network Adapters and select the adapter.
4. Double click on it and read the Device Status.

If your wireless adapter is not working and installed properly, you have to re-install the wireless adapter software driver. When the wireless adapter is already properly installed you can follow this steps below;

Enabling Wireless Zero Configuration Utility

1. Please click on Start, Run and type in services.msc and click on OK.
2. Scroll down and look for Wireless Zero Configuration. Right click on it and click on Start.
3. Right click on Wireless Zero Configuration again and click on Properties.
4. Under the General tab, set the Start up Type to Automatic and Service Status to Started. Then, click on Apply and OK.

Connecting Through Wireless Zero Configuration (Windows XP SP1 and SP2)

For Windows XP Service Pack 1:

1. Please right click on the Wireless icon on the right lower end portion of your computer. Then, click on View Available Wireless Networks.
2. Click on the Advanced tab.
3. Please delete all the preferred networks then click on OK.
4. Right click on the Wireless icon again and click on View Available Wireless Networks.
5. Please select your network and click on Connect. If you have Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) or Wi-fi Protected Access (WPA) enabled on the router, it will ask you for the network key. Please type in the Network Key and then confirm it.
6. Make sure not to enable IEEE and then click on Connect.

For Windows XP Service Pack 2:

1. Please right click on the Wireless icon on the right lower end portion of your computer. Then, click on View Available Wireless Networks.
2. Click on the Change Advanced Settings.
3. Click on the Wireless Networks tab remove all the preferred networks then click on OK.
4. Right click on the Wireless icon then click on View Available Wireless Networks.
5. Select your network and click on Connect.
6. If you have Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) or Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) enabled on the router, it will ask you for the network key. Type in the network key and confirm it. Then click on Connect.

Note: You may use the wireless utility of your wireless adapter in connecting to the wireless network but you need to clear "Use Windows to configure my wireless networks" on the Wireless Networks tab.

Connecting to a Wireless Network on Windows Vista:

a. Click Start then select Connect To.
b. Connect to a network window will show up.
c. Select your wireless network's name or SSID and click Connect.
d. It will ask you for a network key. Type in your wireless network key on the field provided. Then, click on Connect.

Cant get Wireless card to connect to netopia wireless router

There are some things you might try.

The Belkin card will come with third party software you can disable this utility by right clicking on the icon in the Taskbar and choosing "Use Windows Zero Configuration".

Then you will need to go into Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Services >> Wireless Zero Configuration >> Right click and check that the service is starting automatically >> click on Start >> Apply - that should then detect your wireless network and the internet.

Cannot make a wireless connection between a sagem router and a ralink wireless mini card 802.11g

  1. Make sure that your wireless mini card is properly installed into your computer. You can check the status of your wireless adapter by going to Control Panel>System>Device Manager. Then go to Network adapters and look for ralink wireless mini card. Right click on it and click properties then look for device status. It should state there, Device is working properly. Otherwise, there is a problem in the installation of the adapter.
  2. Then, verify the wireless settings that are enabled in your router by accessing your router's setup page.
  3. Take note of the SSID or wireless network name and the security enabled in your router.
  4. Configure your computer that has the wireless adapter with the same wireless settings in your router.
Hope this helps!

Make sure you have a G plus wireless adapter in your laptop. I'm assuming you have your desktop wired directly via a network cable.
