"F26" is a door switch error. This error will occur when the door has not be opened for three consecutive wash cycles. Or, if the door switch remains open for more than 5 seconds while the door is locked. This could be an erroneous error, however. The first step in troubleshooting any error code is to press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear, and attempt to restart. If the error code remains, UNPLUG the washer for AT LEAST 30 minutes in an attempt to reset the Central Control Unit. In many cases a simple CCU reset will correct any momentary glitches or erroneous errors. If the error returns following a CCU reset, a legitimate error condition exists and must be corrected in order to return the appliance to normal operation.
NOTE: For more specific information and troubleshooting advice on how to remedy most problems, each one of these washers comes with a technical data sheet inside the cabinet. Refer to the technical data sheet for detailed troubleshooting tips. To access, you will need to remove the lower toe panel under the door. The access screws are located under the bottom front edge of the panel. You may have to prop the two front feet of the washer up for better access (a 2x4 works well for this). With the screws removed, the panel should drop down, then come off. If the tech sheet isn't directly behind the panel, it will be affixed to one of the interior cabinet walls.
The tech sheet lists all error code definitions, troubleshooting data, diagnostics procedures and wiring diagrams. I mention the tech sheet because you may need it to troubleshoot this error code.
