Full glass of water spilled on my iTouch keyboard. Have tried a fan on it for over 24 hrs and still nothing. Can you help?

Thanks for your help, but I just decided if all else fails use my hair dryer! So I sat the keyboard on my lap and turned the dryer on concentrating on the area where all the circuits (?) are and voila! it worked. Now other than having some literally "hot" keys, I'm able to use it. Sure didn't want to have to spend any money getting it fixed or buying a new one if I didn't have to. I figured if the dryer didn't work, then it was toast anyway!

Hello,

Unfortunately some things don't mix (like electronics and water). You can try to dry it out more, let it sit upside down. Make sure you take the batteries out if you haven't already. If that doesn't work you will most likely need to replace it.

did spill something on it, sticky, if you are a tech you would remove the keyboard if not use steam. and allow 24 hrs before using again.

I was drinking some water and my phone was on the table next to me when i put my glass of water down by accident it dropped and spilled on my screen i didn't know what to do so i just let evrything dry out...

Do not turn on the phone again before taking out all moisture. Take out the battery, sim card, etc. You will need to wrap in newspaper each, the phone and battery and then put in the rice container and wait at least 24 hrs. I hope this helps!

I need to know how to remove the keyboard so i can clean it. i spilled a little beer on it! and some of the keys are not working properly

Turn it off remove the battery get a spray bottle fill it with destilled water turn the keyboard upsidedown over a clean towel spray the keyboard till it drips clean;meaning the drops of water are clean. When finished spraying, Dry with a hair dryer for 30 minuts on low heat let set on clean dry towel for 12 hrs Check for resisual moisture. If any repeat drying proceedure. let set another 12 hrs on clean dry towel
till dry replace battery fire that muther up
way simpler tham removing the keyboard and cleaning it.

How to clean spill out of keyboard on hp pavilion dv7 1245dx

Best thing to do is to take the keyboard out of the laptop. There is usually a top cover above the keyboard that needs to come off. Then there is some screws holding in the keyboard, unscrew those and then unhook the ribbon part of the keyboard off of the motherboard.

Then at that point take a paper towel or washcloth with glass cleaner and clean all around where the spillage is.

Also clean off the keyboard is well and let it sit for a day so it can dry out.

Then put the keyboard back and see if the keyboard is working properly, if not then you'll need to replace it.

Please try the dry rice solution and then repost if it does not work. Remove battery and bury palm in dry rice for 24 hrs. See if it works.

Keyboard Problems

Did it have a liquid spill? If so, remove the keyboard and wash (yes, wash) it. Run it under a warm stream of water (kitchen tap) for a full two minutes. Use a compressor (or a can of air to get out as much water as you can), and put it keys-forward facing a fairly strong fan for 24 hours. Try it again. If no good, replace the keyboard. If no spill, you need a new keyboard.......sorry.

Remove battery and power. Take apart as much as possible. wash any wet/sticky parts in de-ionised water (as used for topping up batteries), allow to thoroughly dry before re-assembling and powering up. Leave at least 24 hrs to dry.

Try not to get circuit board too wet, but if it does not work then you have nothing to lose!

Liquid on keyboard can be very difficult to fix as damp gets under the membrane - even if computer works the keyboard may not but you could always use USB keyboard.
If you have any Silica Gel packets, put notebook and all parts in a plastic bag with them to absorb all moisture (but make sure no powder gets into the components).

Logitech iTouch key board

Have you replace the batteries? If so try the following.
Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
