How to clean

There are 2 Filters that should be washed every 3 months. they are labeled as filter A and Filter B. They only neet to be washed with water. if you use any type of soap or cleaner it will actually damage the filters and they will need to be replaced.
Another part of the vacuum that can be cleaned is the clear bin assembly. REMOVE it from the cyclone before cleaning it. DO NOT get the cyclone wet. it will damage the machine. but again just water and a rag on the bin assy will work great any type of cleaner will actually cause the bin to get foggy.
The only other part to be cleaned is the roller brush. what i would recommed is to take a box cutter, and to cut the length of the roller. all of the hair and fibers on there. then turn the roller brush 180 degrees and cut it again. then turn the vacuum on and vacuum with it for a minute and the debris from the roller brush should be gone.

Very loud "jet like" noise,please

Hi,

Vacuums are noisy, but shouldn't sound like a jet.....

Trying to find out what is wrong depends on what kind of noise it makes, i.e. high squeal, vibration, whining and where it comes from.

Here is a webpage with troubleshooting advice on noise in vacuum cleaners. Hopefully you should be able to track down the problem. http://www.ehow.com/how_7493926_fix-noise-vacuum-cleaner-motor.html

If you need further help with repairs, please reply back. Thanks,

BRUSH DOES NOT RUN

If the vacuum's motor doesn't make a noise when you turn the machine to the carpet setting, this means that most likely you vacuumed up something into the brushes that got stuck, and caught the reset switch to trip. Recline the handle down to the floor, and look at the top part of the agitator brush housing (the head of the vacuum that is on the floor) for a red colored pin. Push this pin down with your finger, and try the vacuum again.

If the lower motor however DOES come on, but the brushes don't spin, this is a clear sign that your agitator belt either fell off, or broke. If you remove the 5 screws on the bottom of the power brush, and separate the black lower housing from the top agitator housing, you can access the belt and brush.

Here's a link to the belt used on your vacuum cleaner, which is actually made by Electrolux for ProTeam:
http://www.amazon.com/Electrolux-Power-Brush-Geared-Uprights/dp/B0017PSHDO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&m=A13YM4FUDXTJG6&s=generic&qid=1273709439&sr=1-1

I hope this was able to answer your question. If for some reason these two solutions didn't work, please just reply to the repair by using the comment box, and I'll be more then happy to answer any follow up questions.

If this was helpful to you, please be so kind and rate my repair, or leave feedback for me. This is really appreciated by the Fixya community.

Thanks so much!

Suction/Brush not working

Hi there SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here.
There are a couple of common reasons that your electrolux vacuum cleaner would appear to have lost it's suction. The first and most common is that it has actually broken a belt. If the belt is broken the brushes won't spin and it will not pick up dirt. It is easy to test simply turn the vacuum on, release the handle (as if you were about to vacuum carpet) and lift up the head and see if the brushes are spinning. If not i can supply you with a new belt.
If the brushes are spinning then your next most likely cause is that there is a blockage in the vacuum somewhere. Test this by turning machine on and checking the suction at the hose (as if your were going to vacuum the couch) if it is poor then remove hose and fish out blockage. If it is ok you may have a blockage between hose and the brush of the vacuum.
If it is neither of these problems i can trouble shoot over the phone if you live in Australia 0269215200 or by email [email protected]
Happy Vacuuming.. :)
