Try to open the printer cover to access the cartridge area. You should have enough space there to get a better hold of the paper jam. Carefully remove the paper. Make sure not to tear or leave any torn pieces of paper to avoid future paper jams.

  1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
  2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
  3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
  4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
  5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
  6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
  7. Turn the printer off.
  8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
  9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

I have a Lexmark T652N that says it has a jam, but I cannot find it. It comes up with error 200.13 Paper Jam - check cartridge

200.13 - Input sensor jam.

The flag sensor that is located before the transfer roll and next to the end of the alignment rollers. Make sure the flag is still there. It can be easily broken. If it is there, make sure it moves forward and springs back into place. If it is missing or doesn't move properly, it needs replaced.

...Still "paper jam". I did

This article in the Lexmark website on How to Troubleshoot a Paper Jam or Misfeed on the Lexmark P4350/P4330 Photo All-In-One will help you fix the paper jam problem. However, if problem continues, there could be some sort of foreign objects that fell into the paper feed system. Grab a flashlight and look into the feeder for any foreign objects that's in the paper path or, if you are capable and willing, carefully lift your printer upside down so the foreign object will freely roll out from the feeder.

The problem is a paper jam

If it says there is a paper jam and there is no paper jamed. Then try opening and closing any compartments on the printer, this resets faults like a "paper Jam".

Paper jams

Hi,

Check solinoid transformers that controls opening and closing of paper handling trays. Check and clean sensors from in and out of paper path. Check and clean paper rollers or heat rollers for dust and paper remains pieces. Please determine when is the paper jams occurs. Hope this gives you hints.

Lexmark X83 all-in-one printer

Hi gerby, need to eliminate a few issues to get to the cause. First, check for a jam. Paper jams can be so tiny you can barely notice them. Use a torch and check thoroughly down back of unit in paper feeder, open cover, let cartridge carriage roll left and settle. Now look inside thoroughly too. If no jam, check rollers are even and look same on each side. Post back if no good.

Paper jam

'That you can see' is often the misconception. Jams can be super minute. Can you please tell me when you open the unit, where does the cartridge roll to???
