It sounds like the left channel has probably failed. Have you tried multiple sources and have the same result? Are you sure these are no longer under warranty?

Sennheiser hdr 160 will not pick up the signal from the receiver
assuming the battery is charged, have you tried to switch to a different frequency band, etc.?
check page 28 of the user manual for possible actions when there is no sound in the headphone.

How do I charge batteries?
The headphones will automatically charge wirelessly when placed in the cradle that should have come with the package. To make sure the headphones are placed correctly, a red light should illuminate letting you know they are being charged and are properly placed.
