Just a guess, but I would say that the number 6 pad is not making good contact with the circuit board. After time, the contacts on the back of the number will become dirty from the oil on your fingers. If you can take the phone apart, you can clean the contacts on the circuit board with an eraser and the back of the number pad with rubbing alcohol.
hell there! I want u to try this small antidode get the key pad membrane cleaned which is under the key pad . coz some kind of carbon forms after a period of time or liquids to can cause this too.
lastly if no change change the key pad membrane .
Get a technician to do this for u
you may have gunk built up in the remote if it is old. i pulled my remote apart, and cleaned under the rubber number pad. i used alcohol to clean the contacts on the pad and on the circuit board. it worked after that. the only other thing i can think of is that one of your batteries is not making contact.
