If your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers or uninstall
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
hope this helps

I have no sound at all, not sure wot to do. says something about no audio devices are installed,

hello jenz8860, try open device manager (run type devmgmt.msc), if u find question mark on your audio device then u need to install audio driver.
to install audio driver use motherboard driver, insert to CDROM, right click the audio device on device manager then update driver. choose recommended option then click next and follow the instruction. your audio device will automatically installed. if it success installed then u need to restart your PC.
if there is no problem in device manager, high possibility it's on hardware problem, try to see cable connection between speaker and PC (use back panel connection, don't use front panel audio, this to make sure the connection is good), if it's ok then mostly problem came from your speaker. try to use another speaker.
hope this useful, regards.

Audio device product

Dear wayne_intila:

Any device you are going to use can be installed if you have installer such as c-media. Or you can use Colossus Hi-fi Speakers for computer. You can download free installer for audio device. Just click here http://download.cnet.com/C-Media-AC97-Audio-Device/3000-2120_4-154785.html copy this link and paste it to address bar and enter then download. Plug the audio device before you install.

"no audio device installed"

First check the device manager from the control panel. Check and see if there is a audio device detected and if it is a problem device. If the device has a problem try removing the audio software and then remove the audio device.then re-boot the computer and windows should detect the hardware and begin installing drivers. Make sure you have the updated drivers from Dell downloaded and the updated software. If it does not detect the hardware after re-boot you can try adding hardware manually in the control panel and have it auto detect any new hardware. If these thins do not work the audio card or built in audio may have stopped working. You can buy a basic PCI audio car for fairly cheap to install on your computer if you cannot get the audio to work.

ASUS P5KPL-AM VIA HD Audio Device not found

I would try the realtek audio driver instead. there are two different audio drivers for that board. Here is the link:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

select the socket 775 then look for the p5kpl board then look in the audio section and select the realtek driver

No audio devices installed

Do you have windows XP or Vista?
Do you have sigmatell audio card?

When this happens go to start->run type in services.msc and press run.
Find Windows audio service. Right click and select properties. SElect start type "automatic" and click on start.
Audio should work.
Please leave your feedback if issue was solved or if you still have that problem

Audio is not working for P5SD2-VM motherboard...

You probably need Microsoft UAA drivers first
1) Remove any installed audio drivers through device manager
2) Download Microsoft UAA drivers for your O/S
3) Install them and reboot
4) go to device manager right click sound and update driver
It will go on the net and in most cases find and install them
